The 2009 Gt-350 Will Have...a V-6!!!
-----
Ok...you are old fashioned.
Personally , I like the sound of a V-12 Rolls Royce Merlin in a P-51, but they won't build those again either.
As Rhumb said earlier, it's time to build some new heritage. I'd buy a modern day GT 350 eats Rice , runs on corn and chews up Vette's and spits them out. If they get the power to weight ratio right, Ford can figure out the rest with Shelby's help. This could be one of those cars we all remember for a looooong time.

Tough row to hoe, though...chewing 'Vettes would require it to be around 3200 lbs w/ more than 415 HP (just an off-the-cuff estimate). Then you have the low center of gravity bit with the 'Vette. In the words of Scotty from Star-Trek: "We need more power, Captain!" And it needs to sit low, too.
Knowing this engine has forged internals is a plus...the 6 cyl. block capable of 600 HP doesn't shock me, it would be more a question of if the rotating assemblies can take the stress & rev's required over duration. Just my .02...
"She won't take much mor-r-r-re, Captain!"
It is a do-able car and just what the GT-350 needs to be. As such, it will be too much car for some ,but a worthy weapon on the track in the right hands. If the injectors on this engine will handle 600 hp, hopefully the mod process to access the power will be mostly electronic(tune) with the usual intake and exhaust stuff.
