FYI- There are a few of these cars ready to hit the street. They actually look pretty nice in person.

The HOT ticket is the last one........glass roof.

Prototype I believe. Stangs have the option in 09 for glass roof. I assume that will carry through to Shelby - GT.

Me neither. Black/Silver looks much cleaner to me.

Hey guys, I saw the car in person at Barrett-Jackson (I went out there with a few friends. One was selling a car on Saturday night. More on that soon). Anyhow, the car is MUCH better looking in person!!! Really is. I liked the coupe they had sitting out there.

I was at B-J on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, I saw four black Mustangs with red stripes parked in rows of two between a building and a chain-link fence. One was completely covered in clear plastic, the only coupe. The remaining three were convertibles. They were definitely not parked for show so I wasn't sure whether we could go look at these cars. We did anyways. What was interesting was the handwriting on the passenger side airbag cover:

Convertible #1: "To Steve, Enjoy! Carroll Shelby"
I'm assuming Steve Davis, President/CEO, B-J.

Convertible #2: "To Spanky, Enjoy! Carroll Shelby"
I'm assuming Spanky Assiter, Auctioneer, B-J.

Convertible #3: "To Amy, Enjoy! Carroll Shelby"
Amy Boylan or Amy Assiter????

The only coupe: "To Craig, Enjoy! Carroll Shelby"
Must be to Craig Jackson...

These are the only pics I took of them. Could not get any pics of the signatures due to glare.

Willie, thats too funny. I saw the same cars behind the tent where the cars that weren't getting auctioned off but were for sale. I never took notice of the writing on the airbag cover. VERY COOL!!! BTW, did you stay all night? I ask as my friends car went off around 10:45 PM. LONG STORY and a very P.O'ed story let me tell ya. The guest passes did work like a charm let me tell you.

No, I didn't stay Saturday night. I went with a friend of mine in my GT. In fact, I was not planning on going back on Sunday but when I showed my wife and daughter the pics I took, my daughter said she'd like to go. So back to Phx we drove.... this time with my daughter in my GT500. Got quite a few stares in the parking area.... too cool...

Greg, I noticed that "scratch" on my pic too. I don't recall if it was really a scratch or not. I was totally focused on the fake gas cap when I took the pic.

You are correct about the 2 of the cars, Spanky Assiter lives about 5 houses up from me and he has 1 for him(a standard) and 1 for his wife Amy(a automatic). I got to take the automatic out for a drive yesterday and it was great. The car sounds so good, the car had about 190 miles on it. And yes both of them are signed, I almost did not want to take the car back. Also from what I understand Spanky had to buy them they were not given to him.
