Got the H today!!
Well, Friday at 4:46pm my son Charles Michael Morris was born. He weighed in at 10 lbs 9ozs and 22 inches long. Big boy. Brought him home today in the Shelby while my wife rode home with my mom in her 500. She didn't think she could get down into the Shelby.

Darn ricers never learn :)
Also had some fun with the car Saturday on a trip back to the hospital. Was making a trip back out to the hospital in the afternoon and came up behind a Honda Civic with a big fart can and some sort of Euro taillights (I know, don't they all??!!??
). Anyways, I was in the Shelby and wasn't really felling like running it because I just wanted to get back to the hospital to see my son. Anyways, he was several car lengths ahead and I was coming up on him kinda quick and then he changed over to my lane due to some traffic turning in front of him. So then I am stuck having to move over to go around him and low and behold he downshifts and gets on it. Actually kinda had a throaty, rumble sound to it. At this point I am thinking this idiot doesn't know I am not driving a V6 (None of the large GT fogs on the H). So I say what the heck and just floor it. By the time I look down I am doing 80-ish and blow right past him. I coast the rest of the way to the hospital entrance and he is just putting along because he now realizes I am not in a V6. As I make my turn into the hospital he is going by behind me so I get on it one more time to get some tire squeal and a loud exhaust note for him as he goes by. Pretty sure he won't be messing with any black and gold Mustangs anymore.

Cam, thanks for coming to Cincinnati. I never figured on seeing one of these cars in person, much less getting a ride in it. The performance changes make this car an excellent addition to the Shelby lineage.
Now if we could get the guy at the Ford dealer who swore this was not a real Shelby to understand it was a real Shelby (T82, it's a T82)...
Pictures from your visit are here.

The only thing better that the look on Tony's face when he rode in the H was "talking" with this sales guy at King's Ford.
While Tony and I were out in the H he wanted to stop by his dealership, King's Ford. We pull in and a salesman is walking out and Tony asks if his salesperson he deals with was there and the guys told him he was on vacation. Tony then asks the guy if he has seen on these and points to the H. The guy then says "It's just a GT". Tony and I are both kinda stunned for a moment and start to say how it is a Shelby GT-H and he looks at the VIN number and says "It is just a T-82 Mustang". I then open the hood and show him the serialized plate from Shelby Automobiles and he looks at the CAI and says "It just has some bolt ons. If you want to see the real Shelby go inside and look at the 500". I then explain to him that the GT500 has the Shelby name on it and is recognized by the Shelby Registry as a Shelby but was completely built by Ford at Flat Rock while the GT-H was built by Shelby Automobiles in Las Vegas. At this point he just keeps going about it just being a GT and just having bolt ons. I just kept my mouth shut because I would have probably used words I shouldn't;t have in public. I wanted to ask him how he thought the blower got on the 500, the horsepower fairy came and tapped the car and made the engine appear???? It is a bolt on as well. WHAT A MORON!!!!! I told Tony if we can't get this H next year then I am going to go back to the putz and order a Shelby GT and if he tries to tell me a bunch of crap about why the are putting a market adjustment on it then I am going to tell him "It's just a GT" and then slap him and leave. URRRGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been laughing so hard about that all day!
We were met by another salesperson who recognized me and immediately knew it was the Hertz car. She asked Cam if he was from Ford, Shelby, or Hertz!
I am thinking to myself "I am with a ROCK STAR!"
Cam told her he rented it to bring home his newborn son in a Shelby. She thought that was great. She was very aware of the vehicle's significance and its meaning to customers.
Meanwhile, just remember "its' a T82 Mustang"!

The Ford dealers in this area are pathetic. I like asking them questions that I know the answer to.... that they have no clue about.
I asked a lady at the dealer in Lebanon what the rearend ratio was in the automatics and manuals (of course, I knew) and she looked at me like a deer in headlights..
Just out of curiosity, what did they want for the GT500 at Kings?

My camera was on the fritz because the batteries were low, but I also think it was $15,000. I am sure someone will buy at some point, given the "rarity" of a stripeless GT500.
The problem with the GT-H is that it repeating the same story as the GT350-H. Many people crash the while they rent it. Just read the Nov. Issues Showcase in 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords.
