Tinting & Moleskin

So I've researched and read all there is to read, I think, about getting my windows tinted. I ordered the moleskin kit, and will install this weekend. Been to the Tinter and will like set up an appointment next week (35% rear and sides, 20% quarters). Pics to follow.
Any advice?

I went 20% all around and looks awesome...then again my car is white and you can't get better contrast than black and white The tinter dude said I wouldn't need the moleskin with the type of film he uses...I installed them anyway to be on the safe side. With 35% you will be able to see through the car.

I just put the moleskin on my car & then just had the car re-tinted while in Fla. With our cars 05+ you rally should put the moleskin on. When I bought my car used, it already had tint on it & you caould see where the tint was scratched from not having any on.

Since I have re-tinted I have not had 1 scratch ( taps on wood)

I don't think it has to do with the type of tint used, but more of the felt on the factory window guide wearing off/coming off & it scratching.

Hey Al;
I'd like to go 20%, but NC law says 35% is max, all around (xcept front). I really don't need to get hassled by the law. I figue the 20% on the quarter is negligible, surely they wouldn't bother me with that. Also, NC is considering a law this fall to tighten the tint standards... too many yanks moving down her wanting to make it like the homeland.

It's the same here in O-town but I haven't heard of anyone getting hassled for tint...probably due to the fact that cops have other things to worry about...I swear the worse drivers I've ever seen are here.

Put the moleskin on today. Piece of cake. Good directions (as in the post on the site elsewhere), just a few changes;
- Torx was #30 instead of #25.
- 9/32 Hex Head Screws instead of phillips head.
- I took out all the screws around the door panel (panel just lifted off, no prying).
Tint Shop this week....

I was going to vote 11, but there is something missing on the hood? JK I voted 11

Back from the Tint Shop. They did an excellent job! They said to let it absorb some sun for a few days to cure? They also asked about the moleskin, were I got it. They want to start carrying it. $159 for quarters (20%), sides and rear (35%).

according to some of my HCSO friends - that usually comes into play when youre a jerk and they want to find more stuff to add to the current ticket. plus not all of them really care.
