I just went to the seminar Ford held for its SYNC specialists yesterday. Let me tell you, this item is going to go over BIG!!! Its awesome!!!! While its only in Phase 1, by Phase 3, it will make Onstar look like a childs toy, it has that much possibility. I wish it were available when I got my car.
The Sync sounds interesting. When we got our new GT/CS, the dealer said it would be around $700.00 to install the wiring/labor for us to use our Blue tooth phones through the Shaker 500 sound system. That sounded a little spendy. So we bought a $300.00 portable windshield mount Magellan GPS Auto Nav unit with Blue tooth voice command and love it! Now we just move the GPS/Bluetooth system from the Stang to the truck and back when changing rides. And now we are now enjoying hands free phone calls where ever we go. CooooL!
CRR: We got the Magellan Maestro 3140 model GPS, when it first came out. Bought it through the HSN during an introduction promo sale and saved about $125.00 off of the MSL price. Excellent unit!! Good sound quality too. P.S. Congrats again on getting our twin GT/CS! Good choice.
I talked to our Ford rep today about this, and she did some research, I was hoping the Sync would be available atleast for 2008 job 2, but for some reason they won't be offering the Sync on the mustang until 2009. I don't know if a retrofit will be possible.
