Hotlap:

Yeah, I read from OKC that 'Stangs will come with optional HIDs. If they had been optional in 2005 I would have gotten them! Had to make my own option...

To me the Silverstars are disappointing in the fog lights because they didn't change the color of the lighting from yellow to white. There is a faint bluish tinge, but nothing very dramatic. While I wasn't hoping for something approaching true HID lighting, I was expecting a bit more whitish light.

Note that I was comparing my stock fog light bulb to a Silverstar light bulb, both installed at the same time, and I was hard pressed to tell the difference between the two. THAT is what disappointed me, not the comparison between my HIDs and the Silverstars.

Can't comment on the upcoming Silverstar H13s, but I will agree with you that the stock headlights suck. Maybe the 2007 ones are better?

My HIDs are the complete Saleen conversion kit. Check it out here:
http://www.saleen.com/SC101_Services...10-1202-B11324*

They retail for $899 now. I paid $1199 for them at the time. Kits are still expensive, but I think in terms of safety it is worth it. And no, I have never been hassled about the HIDs!

mrkabc-- You must have had some freak foglight bulb. There was a definite difference when I installed mine.

Actually, you reminded me of something KC said...that the 07's lenses/refracters have been redesigned - wonder if that means they will be a bit brighter and/or use a different bulb? That H13 really is bad bulb.

Anyone comment on this?

Yeah - you'll have to for now as they aren't out yet. I'm first in line though

Joe the headlight bulbs should be identical - check your OM and you should have the H13/9008 - just that you won't have the fog lights.

Just installed H13ST's in my headlights and its a big difference in color... overall brightness isnt effected much if at all. But having white light over that dimming yellow makes me feel like I can see much better. Picked them up last night at local autozone. cheap easy mod that'll keep me satisfied til saleens or hopefully retrofitting 08 factory HIDs. Just my 2 cents..

Josh - thanks for posting - I'm headed to AutoZone right now I agree with you - even though they are not much brighter (only 20% over stock - with the same wattage) the white light is so much better looking than the stock H13 "yellow" bulb! Getting them for my '05 F-150 too!

Not to hijack the thread, but any thing to brighten the back up lights? I live in the country and it gets dark here at night, brake lights are brighter than the back ups.

H13ST are out now, found them at autozone for $19.99. I recomend calling ahead making sure they have them and if they do ask them to hold them. The autozone near me only showed two in stock so I had them hold them till I could go pick them up.

I had a chance to look at an '07 headlight compared to my '05 side by side at the hotel in Birmingham. The '07 lens appears the same, the chrome bucket has ridges around the entire perimeter, and the bulb cover is now gone. Maybe Ford realized making it out of plastic was dumb since it melts/distorts with the OEM bulbs in there

I like the ST's , just a bit brighter, but the yellow is gone. When I put them in I also raised them up a bit too, that helped. Just ordered some LED backup lights, supposed to be brighter will find out when I get them, less than $20 a pair. will give a full report when installed.
Had to hold off on the stripes, took a road trip over the weekend ( Green Bay for opening day, I've gotten enough grief already.... on the outcome of the game). Most likely will get it in around Monday to finish that mod.

Oh KC you are a punny guy .
