Side scoops..

Anybody with loose side scoops?, my passenger side has a 1/4" gap. You can press on it and it looks fine. If you do, how did you fix it?

Have not had any problems with mine, but now that you mentioned it, I will have to keep a close eye on it.

I just installed the GT/CS side scoops. There is no fix aside form removing them and reinstalling new tape. The original 3M tape probably didn't adhere well.

I'm on my 3rd one on the passenger side. I'll be picking it up tonight and I'll already talked to the Body shop and they told me that it is still a little gap toward the bottom. I'll have it repaired now by 2 different dealers. I'll see tonight how bad it is.

also there was a snow storm last night and the streets will be covered in snow and salt. But I don't want it to sit outside at the Dealer so I'll drive it home and put it in the garage and wash it when I can.

Back from the Dealer and have to show the Body Shop Manage what gap I was talking about. I can push in the top back corner of the scoop a good 1/4" . He couldn't believe his eyes and says the cold weather must have loosing it . He promise to fix it in the spring when I bring it back

Oh well the dents on the hood are gone and the paint doesn't look to bad.

That sucks... The scoops that I installed have about 1/16" gap. I don't think that there is a way to avoid it. If you look at the back, the tap does not go all the way around the scoops, IMO, they do look good, but a bad design

Dougxox, Just wanted to say your mustang looks awesome, and was wondering what all you have done to the exhaust. Im trying to decide if im going to do just axle backs or go all the way.

Last week I noticed the scoop on my passenger side was sticking off alittle bit. I have a scheduled appointment tomorrow about it. It cant be a cold issue. I live in Florida.

Just did the FRPP stingers, at first there was a lot of drone at the 1800 RPM mark, but have since toned down, either that or I have gotten used to it...LOL
Also added the K&N intake, and custom tune by Doug @ Bamatunes. Both help with the sound and performance.

But back to the tread.... what time of year did you get your car? Mine was built in the summer, I think the tape has a better chance of sticking than if it was done in a warmer time. I have worked with the 3M tape, and it seams like there are some days it will stick to anything and other days it just falls off everything.
IMHO temp has a lot to do with it.

Just got back from the dealer. They are saying the clip on the scoop is loose and it needs to be tightened. So I have to bring it back because they have to loosen the side panel of the car to get to it.

I think i'm just going to use Crazy Glue or something, i don't want them messing with a body panel.

FYI... There are no clips. They are held on with 3M tape and plastic stip bolts that connect to plastic anchors. Bolts/anchors do no actually hold the scoops and are basically there as guides and to be in compliance with DOT standards. If the scoops are lifting off, then the 3M tape is failing. I would definitely not let them lossen a side panel... What are they talking about... side panel ? You mean side scoop?

We got our car in August in 100+ weather and our side scoop on the passenger side didn't stick. We made the dealer order and new one and replace it. Haven't had any problems since with that!
