seat belt?

Hi...I have a 2008 Mustang GT. I hate wearing my seatbelt cause it cuts into my neck. What can I do to help with this issue since it is the "LAW" to wear the seatbelt??? It does the same on the passenger side. Thanks for any info.

I got memory foam seat belt sleeves, with plush coverings. They work pretty good, for me anyway. I don't use them on the neck, but on the chest/shoulder, which prevents it from hitting the neck, and is more comfortable than to actually put them on the neck.

They slide about, so you can put it wherever's most comfortable. Only problem is the seat belt won't retract completely, about an inch or so sag in it. Which will probably damage the thing in the long run, but... at least my neck isn't hurtin'.

They're similar to this:

Only black.

Hope that helps!

Well Debbie, if you have ever had another car head right for you on a tight curve like I have...
You would not care what the law is in a completely different way.
Please wear your seat belt!!!
By the way, seat belts are not required in my state.

Deb: Go to your local Ford Dealership and ask the parts department for a seat belt extender. They are free for the asking and will really help you with that neck pain issue. We got one for each side, as the First Lady is a tall girl and her riding comfort is important too! CalStang

I got my seatbelt extenders now to use them..... I am a shorty at 4'11" I probably could use some pedal adjustments too so I don't have to sit so close to the steering wheel....

Yes the seat is electrical and all the way up but I don't think it is a good thing to be that close to the steering wheel. I was going to check if there is adjustable pedals. I've heard of them just don't know if I can get them for my car.....

for me I'd like a chauffer like my kid but he is only 14 , I'd love someone to drive me around actually , I like being a passenger in the Mustang , even I find my back seat comfy !

Yes...I sometimes like to have a chauffer also but my kids are all grown up daughter 26,son 25 and daughter 19 and on their own. Only my son 25 can drive a stick. When I bought my car in 2008 I hadn't driven stick since I was 18. I realized it was like riding a bike. I didn't totally forget, but I did snub it out a few times until I got used to the clutch and a whole different small shifter....

ha ha...I don't think the mustang is concidered in the ford mobility list. The backseat in my car is NOT comfortable at all!!!! My son sat back there on a short trip and he said it is not made for passengers!
