New to me 2007 GT/CS Performance White
Thanks NC,
Got a call late last night and I guess when it was at the alignment shop there were some interesting numbers. They are going to check a few more things before I can get it. Still might get it today but we'll see.

Sounds pretty good other than having to wait. It was a pretty quick turn around, but sounds like they are not rushing it back to you. Making sure it is right. Hope she comes back in a form you are pleased with. Best of wishes.
afternoon everyone!
Safe and sound back in my possession. Man it was good to drive it. Doesn't drive as good as it did but I know why. The Alignment shop did a poor job on centering the rear axle. Its way off to the left side. I can fix that and wasn't interested in it being out another week. When I down shift it literally steers to one side... I am betting/hoping its due to the axle not being centered. The repair on the wheel is good enough for now. They did a great job getting the scuffs out but didn't finish the machining so there are tool marks all over it. It'll work for now. Insurance will cut me a check for a new set. Wont be the same value as what I have into it but 1500 is better than 500. I should probably fight it but overall things went pretty smooth so why jinx it.
Other than that it looks great. Very happy to have it back.
Cheers

Very glad to hear that your experience was mostly positive.
Let's hope you are right with the alignment issue and that it is not suspension related damage. That's always scary as so many shops just can't repair them to 100%.
I've decided to take into a place that I know and trust to get it right. Don't even care if I have to pay for it. The value of knowing it's done right is worth paying for in my opinion. I did tell the Body shop of this and they did offer to correct it so at least there is that. I don't blame the shop... the place that did the alignment.... yeah they should have known better.
With any luck I'll have it done this weekend.

Update:
Well things are not going my way. Drove it an hour away and dropped it off and my trusty tire shop. Wife and family picked me up and we left it there for the day. A nice breakfast, fun on the beach, seafood lunch and an overall great day. Got back to the tire shop only to find out nothing was done. The guy that checked me in went home injured and didn't share my request to who took over. So, axle still not centered and e-brake not adjusted. Guess I am going to have to do this one myself.
Wouldn't change the day as it was nice getting out with the fam, but man what a disappointment.
Thanks for hearing my rant.
Cheers

If the guy isn't injured for a long period of time, perhaps take it back again. You have waited this long so I wouldn't give up yet. You seem to want this guy to do the job so unless he is gone for weeks on end, give one more chance. Maybe you are feeling better about it today?? Despite the aggravation it's nice to hear you had a good day otherwise.
Hey NC,
After talking more with the guy that checked the alignment he would be the guy to return it to. Which I still might... just need to plan it so I can leave it for a day. It's an hour drive one way so details have to be just right to make this work. Appointments are weeks out. I am in no rush though. Just super busy with work and weekend stuff. Weather is changing fast so i suspect the CS wont be driven often.
My wife has been driving it which is super cool. She really likes drive it around.
Cheers everyone

hey NC,
No real change as things have been wildly busy. I did get time to do the rear axle centering myself. Made a big difference but the alignment is still off I feel. The steering is crazy sensitive... way more than it was before. I've driven it enough that I've almost gotten used to it but it feels like when you begin to make a turn say at freeway speeds it makes a much larger turn then the input provided. I think that would be over steer correct?
The tech that dialed it in is no longer around and I just need to sit with the guy and explain what I am looking for. Probably is timing and the shop is an hour away. To make things worse I ended up coming down with Pneumonia and have been in real bad shape for several days. Not sure how I got it just know that its sucks.
Car drives well enough so I have that.
Cheers guys and happy holidays.

Yeah, sorry about your health. I finally ended a 2 week bout with a serious cold myself that ended up in my chest. I just struggled through it as usual and now I'm set for the turkey today. I hope you can enjoy the holiday. Thanks for the update.
Hey guys,
Feeling much better thanks. Did get a chance to take the GTCS out a few times this week too. Talk about good medicine driving this thing. I was the most sick during the big feast so I missed out on that, but I did have my family there and that really is all that mattered. Wife's a great cook and will do another Turkey dinner for Christmas or whenever really. I am trying to find some time to get the car in the garage and up on stands. I want to go through the whole thing front to rear. I think its due for some general maintenance. Makes a few unwanted sounds when driving at low speeds. Since my entire suspension is BMR is stands to reason a good re-torqueing is in order. At speed it's nice and quiet.
Happy Holidays to you all! Cheers and thanks,
Nemi
