More Dealer woes
Yesterday I took my Black 07 GT/CS to a different dealer to get some warrenty work started. I have a cracked Fog lense and some problems with the passage seat, and the passage side side scoop.
I acually got into a argement with the service writer and Body Shop adjuster as to who installed my Body kit. My Mustang is a stock GT/CS. So went I told them it came from the factory that way I was almost called a lier. They started to decline the work as the side scoop was a aftermarket part I was told. I actually got out their Mustang book to show them a GT/CS. The service writer left saying he was right and I was wrong and the Body shop adjuster finally got his Boss and then I got some where with him. So parts are ordered finally and we will wait and see what happens next. Oh and they kept saying this has to be a 06 and not a 07 because they just came out and noway could I have owned this car 2 months already.
Anybody else having problems with Ford and these cars????

Just point out the number on the VIN that shows "model year" as a "7", and not a "6". It's the 8th number from the end IIRC. That should solve model year BS.
As to the CS scoops, the dealer must be pretty stupid not to know about those. There is also a code for the CS, is there not?
Agree with you - very poor performance by the dealer.

I would suggest tracking down your regional Ford rep. ASAP and get him involved before the parts come in.
Tell him your story and ask him to insure that things are done right. He needs to know about this kind of treament.
If a service writer can't tell an '06 from an '07 by the vin # you need somebody to guide you through these idiots.

Its people like this in the auto business, that give the good people a bad, bad rap. Even though these guys are in the service shop, and body shop, they STILL need to read the new product info, so they don't look like complete fools!! I'm real sorry to hear about your troubles. These guys need an atitude adjustment.

Yeh though I walk through the valley of idiots, what could be thier only wine ? humm well it could be on warrenty work that Ford will only maybe credit so much, then if el-cheapo dealer only will put x amount of time into said repair , then thats all he gives a rats **** about. Call the rep or a lot of dealers like mine has someone that does backup how are thing and if a problem they do it. Good Buisness.
