Lowering my GTCS, advise

Like I said earlier, all the options will make your head spin. If you're doing it on a budget or want to do it one step at a time then, yes springs and shocks/struts would be the first step. If your shop can't align it then camber bolts or caster/camber plates would be next. If you're trying to stuff the widest rear tires possible then an adjustable panhard bar would be next. LCA relocation brackets are mainly for drag racing as are upper and lower rear contol arms. If you feel the need for more cornering ability then sway bars would be next. Or, if money is no object there are several options to do everything as a package deal. But, you say you mainly want to lower for looks without a bad ride. Then springs and adjustable shocks/struts is probably what you want to do first. Just my 2 cents.
I think I'm going this route: FFRP M-1800-A with either M-5300-K or -P. Just not sure if I want 1 or 1.5 inch drop. I'd hate to go 1 inch and then regret not going the extra 1/2 inch. Also, it looks like the 1800s come with different camber bolts. The lower hole could be enlarged to adjust camber (see attachment). Is that recomended...the other alternative is the shim plates, but they are 200 bones. Another question, the FFRP springs appear to be an even drop all around where the Steeda drops the rear a bit more to even out the stance...recomendations?

Let me start by saying my thoughts on lowering are influenced by a semi-bad back and being an old fart (50). I sometimes take trips in my car and carry luggage and stuff in the trunk. So, if you lower it more in the rear to level the car you are loosing a little weight carrying capability or stiffening the springs so the ride is harsher. Also, I prefer the slight nose down stance that lowering the same f/r gives. (No reason, just looks). I lean towards the 1" drop also because I live out in the country and my drive to/from work is usually a obstacle course of road-kill. If my car wasn't a DD I might go for the 1.5" drop. Again this is my 2 cents only as I haven't actually lowered my car yet but am still researching my decision. You might also check out some car shows and talk to other owners about what they like and dislike about their lowering experience. I will be at the MCA National this weekend in Pensacola doing just that.

the strut should not move with the camber bolts with the cam on them ,not real sure about the listed kit you show,a good set of Camber bolts will cost you between $ 20.00 and $ 40.00 dollars depending on which name you go with.I say go with Eibach, most wheel shop will charge about $ 50.00 dollars for the Eibach bolts,so buy before you go .you can get the Eibach bolts, for about $ 26.00 dollars on line.you can also look at stock 2007-08 Shelby GT's they all came with the K-springs without Camber kits ??? ,just trying to be helpful

I bougth the Ford Racing suspension kit and love it for my 04 GT convert. as for the camber and caster plates when you get your Mustang alined they ajust them to the specs for your car. you need to get it alined after you install the camber and caster plates. BTW i'm 57 and never have any problems after riding in my car. i drove to the 45th anny and rode great to the event. even drove on the track there and loved the way my Mustang handled with the kit.

I have the FRPP K Springs, 1.5" inch drop. I didn't need an alignment, so no camber bolts for me, but I like the -1.9 degrees of camber. I have the GT/CS front and rear bumper covers. The drop makes the tire look centered in the tire wells.

I thought you meant to have them look like that. Did you post them in from a image hosting site like photobucket or did you pull them directly from your computer? When I post big pics I use photobucket and put the img code on separate lines. Then they show as separate pics in a vertical arrangement.
