So adding a bit of turn to the bolts worked after all; adding the washers to yield more room in the bolt holes for more torque.

Looks nice now Heidi !!!

Heidi, Appears to be better then the original installation. To bad you've had to jump through all the hoops to get it fixed. I've not had any scoop problems yet! Take care... Marty

Jill, you have a gorgeous Mustang too. I'm beginning to think the Dark Candy Apple Red is approaching the rather popular Vista Blue color... Here's my Stang...

Hey Marty just came back from a meet Vista blue at night is oh so mmmmmmm. Jill i lived in VA untill 8 months ago we have twin cars. Ya, the turning bolts and washers, ser gut! (very good) Thanks everyone for the input you all are great.

Thanks Marty. I do love the VB too! I've always been partial to red, so I just had to have it. My very first car (back in the day) was a red 73 Nova that my stepfather rebuilt for me.

Glad to see they got that sorted out for you. If it happens again you might want to see about getting a new scoop. I was talking to a few guys last fall that had similar issues. Looked like some of the scoops didn't quite fit right and the service guy I know mentioned they have had to replace a few due to "fitment issues".
