GT/CS Billet Lwr Grille
Ok guy's, as some of you know the dilema behind the recent Brake Duct Bezel covers with Shelby and availability issues, I said to me self screw Shelby. I was going to wait on the new version and also purchase the Billet Lower Grille, which also is on backorder and not available.
So to the point, I went ahead and fabricated my own version of a Billet Lower Grille specifically for the GT/CS opening matched to the Shelby Upper. It took me a couple of days worth of time and effort but it paid off. Here are a couple of pics, so let me know what ya think !

Started with 3/16" x 1" Flat extruded solid aluminum and 1/8" x 3/4" x 3/4" angle extruded aluminum stock. Used the angle stock vertically and slotted it horizontally to fit the flat stock. The notch's into the angle stock allowed the flat stock to sit about have way in. The flat stock pieces were then formed to fit the angles across the area of the lower opening in the fascia. I notched the backs of the flat stock so that I could bend it to these angles and not displace or kink material to the show side (if that makes sense). When all formed it was time to create an assembly (fun fun). Once everything was dry fit I staked the backs of the flat stock into the angle stock and epoxed over all. If you have access to a aluminum welder this would be the time to use it ! To attach to the fascia I placed two 1/4 -20 x 1" bolts in the angle stock extending aft and allowing me to fasten through the fascia in the area where the end covers were. Polished the aluminum faces of the flat stock before assembly and then taped them off. Painted the back side flat black, removed the tape over the polished area then clear coated the whole thing.

No I staked it from the back (peened the metal) and then epoxed it all. A welder would make it much quicker to assemble.
