Front End Mask for GT/CS
Front End Mask for GT/CS
Anyone have any idea where they sell a GT/CS Front End Mask? I have found a lot for the GT and all of them say "Does not fit California Special"
HELP!
HELP!
I have the Colgan Bra made for the Shelby. Fits like a glove, as it was made for the Shelby front end.
The part number is: PR1474, Ford Mustang Shelby GT 2 PC. Cost was $144.81, plus $12.00 shipping.
The site is : www.colgancustom.com
The two hooks in the center need to have a link to attach to as the Shelby uses a cross bar grill in lieu of the honey comb on our cars. I used a black bungee cord attached to the grill. The hooks on the bra then clip onto it. Otherwise it is a perfect fit. I have had it all summer, and driven up to 75 with it, on a trip. No flapping.

I can't take credit for this...the original post was made by TDS on 25 Mar 2008. I am attaching the link to the thread, and there is a photo in post #10.
I have my car in for the winter and no photos with the Bra. Here is the link;

This is one of the best covers I have seen, and I have been using them since '79. It is made from heavy material and lined to protect the car finish.

Please be careful when ordering the front end covers, as the GT cover does not fit the CS. I looked at other sites and did not find a CalSpecial cover(listed for the Shelby), with the exception of Colgan.
I had the dealer put one on when I bought the car in '07 as I had a 1200 mile drive home in a few days. They managed to get the GT cover on, not realizing it was different, (dealers!!), but it took about an hour for them to do it, and the techs were not happy
The cover worked for the trip, but obvioulsy did not fit right, and really was a pain to put on. I ended up just using the hood portion until I purchased the Shelby cover.

I bought the Colgan bra for my 08 CS. Fits like a glove but the bottom clips won't work on my bumper. They are not long enough to bend in a way to clip on. So I drilled a hole thru the clip an screwed a SS lanyard on and bungee corded it to the front of the motor mounts. You can't see it and it holds it on really tight.Drove 250 miles on I-4 in central Fl. today sometimes keeping up with traffic at 90 mph.for miles and no problems.I am only using it for high speed highway trips. Took less than 10 min. to put on.I tried to post some pics. but had trouble downloading.Going to try again later. Just want to say this thing is A+ Made in the USA quality.
thanks: GT/CS Colgan bra
wanted to say thanks to Calif Spec SD for his reply & for the hint on the bungie cord for the Cogan bra. Worked like a charm for the 2 upper hooks on the spoiler bra since the CS special has a honeycomb grill, and no place to attach those 2 hooks. Taking trip from NJ to SC in 2 weeks and want to insure protection for the front-end at high speeds on RT 95. And overall, bra fit very well after stretching it a bit for the 1st installation.
