from 3.31 to 3.55 under warranty
I just picked up my C/S from the dealer after having 3.55 installed. It was a dealer ordered car w/3.31 that I found out the day after I bought it. I took it back to the service manager and explained that car had wrong gear installed. I showed him the 2007 mustang broucher that stated GT w/ standard trans 3.55 and 3.31 are not available option for GT w/standard trans. After he spoke to the regional rep, the regional wanted to speak to a engineer. The engineer wanted the rear end varified that it had 3.31 installed. After the verification I was told they were ordering the parts. I dropped it off yesterday and picked it up today with new 3.55 installed, all under warranty.
Thanks to Larry Miller Ford for correcting the car

Hey John - I may be misunderstanding your situation....but the 3:55 is not standard on the '07 GT...for some reason Ford made it an optional order item in '07 ($100.00 additional cost) - might be for the corporate fuel economy average ratings.....

Oh I know about the option , but the 2007 broucher still had the 05-06 option listing. I showed them that 3.31 wasn't available for the 5 spd by what it said in the broucher so the car must have been misbuilt. The service person ran it up the chain and they told him to fix it. Now I have 3.55's. I did notice the last time I went to the dealership there weren't any 2007 Mustang broucher to be found.....
Isn't that something....Ford Marketing/Publications just cost Ford the price of a rear end swap.....hey jsully, just curious is the 3:31 a limited slip diff as well?

I don't feel it, but it seem to have little more wheel spin between power shifts.
Yes, the 3.31's were limited slip diff. It was a ring and pinion change with new installation kit.
