17" Rims or 18"x8"?

OK, So we had our first snow. All the snow we had last winter and the GT/CS was fine up to a certain depth. Last nights snow was wet/heavy and I was all over the driveway. Our rims are 18x8.5's right?

Questions -
1. Can we run 17"s on our GT/CS?
2. Can we run 18"x8"'s on a GT/CS?

What offset should I be looking for? I'm considering getting some Winters to play it safe, but I need to narrow down the rims first. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Ted

I think they are 18x8. 17's will fit also offset is 45. Call your local discount tire and ask them or checkout www.discounttiredirect.com save about 20 bucks a tire shipped to ypur house.

I run stock 17's and Pirelli's that I bought from NewTakeOff.com on the CS for the winter. They work well in all but the deepest snow.

Our stock rims are 18 x 8.5. I say use them for winter rims and get some good snow tires and then get some bigazz(wide) rims and tires for summer use

Thanks guys. trying to weigh out the best options. This last snow was heavy and wet. My all seasons were fine last year, this snow was slick. Ughhhh.

Have you seen our stock GT/CS rims for sale anywhere? I really like the stock look, I'd consider another set if I could find them for a good price.

Thx,
Ted
