1/4 Mile time...what am I doing wrong?

First time at the track tonight. 93 Race Bama Tune and JLT CIA. 5 speed 3.55

Shift points at the red line or a bit over and I finished in 3rd gear. I was launching at about 2000 to 2500rpm. When I tried to go any higher then that I spun the tires. Any suggestions?

Get sticky tires! I haven't tried mine out yet but I managed to break into the 14's with a terrible 60. 
Of course the weather was a bit better and I was experimenting with the launch a bit more than usual. I spin like crazy(new track, VERY little rubber and absolutely no prep on it) so I launch around the same RPM you're launching at. Its difficult when the weather AND the track is against you. Hopefully i'll throw my MT's on and take it out in a month or so.
