Does anyone know how many CS's are expected to be made this year? Also do you think this model would qualify as a "collectors item" if the production numbers are not expected to be very high.

Not sure on production numbers, I thought I saw something about only 9,000 being produced. But, I read somwhere that 07 would be the last year for the "my color" option on the dash lights, if so, the 07 CS would be the only year with that option.

 

Speaking of numbers of the GT/CS, does anyone know is there a way to determine the number in the run of 8000 or so (i.e. number 200 of 8000)? Can it be determined from the VIN?

 

According to a Ford PowerPoint presentation that was previously posted on BlueOvalNews, the 2007 model year capacity was for 8750 units. As the items are appearance-oriented and many can be purchased individually, I would say these would not be "collectible" in the same sense as the limited production Cobra R models from 1993, 1995 and 2000. Certainly they will be rare as compared to the number of GTs for 2007.

 

No. In fact, the VIN number does not even indicate the order Mustangs are built in. A car built today can have a higher VIN number than one built a month from now! It's a shame Ford doesn't do a numbered plaque in them like they do with the Stampede Edition.

 

Thanks. I wish Ford would get with the program and design a section on their website for researching production info. I don't think that will ever happen because the current site takes months for the webmaster to update.
