Did you read the fine print at the buttom. It reads, "If you have ever exceeded the posted speed limit by more than 5 miles per hour, or if have ever done a burnout, your here said letter is null and void".

Notice how it says the dealer doesn't have to participate. Which means they will simply say NO to anything without a market adjustment!

Since it does not count against their allocation why would they not do it!

I'd rather have a letter saying I've got a large sum of money headed my way in the near future... followed by this letter.

Because of this:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>You and your dealer will negotiate the purchase price or lease terms.
I'm sure there are already unscrupulous dealers out there who are scheming a way to get some of those power lease GT-500s that don't count against their allocation and charge $20K AMVs on them.

What happens if I order a GT-500 on the power lease program and when it arrives the dealer tells me there is a $20K AMV? I'm sure the dealer will tell me that if I don't want to pay it there are plenty of other customers who will take my GT-500 and pay the AMV.

Don't call me cynical, one of my local Ford dealers pulled a stunt like this on a Ford GT sale. The day you could place orders for Ford GTs a customer ordered one at MSRP. When the customer went to take delivery the dealer demanded a $50K AMV.

Oh you say that's illegal, well the dealer said it wasn't AMV, it was "Dealer Preparation Charge" The customer sued the dealer and after a year he won the case. But winning in court doesn't mean anything in this country anymore, last I heard the customer still had not been able to take delivery of his Ford GT.

This story is not BS, it has been well documented in the local news paper.

I would be to tak ALL powerlease customers and negotiate a price UNDER MSRP fot their Shelby's. Why not, it does not count against our allocation, it would create a lot of buzz, I would be able to get free press out of it delivering all those Shelby's.

I could be the Shelby King of the USA.

I believe it. One of the guys on this form had a similar thing happen when the '05s were demanding AMV. The dealer ordered a car for him on the x-plan pricing agreement, took his PIN, and when the car arrived he wanted a $5000 mark up. Luckily, I put the customer in contact with the Ford Program Manager and after a few phone calls the AMV magically went away. Ford special programs (A/X/D and powerlease) have little power to control dealers, but the threat of losing a Shelby allotment because their presidential award winner status was revoked keeps most of them in line. Think of it as a $10-20k fine for being a dirtbag.
