Who cares about the facisias and hoods. I bought this car for the beast it is not for the wrapper it's in.

My point: It seems rather obvious that Ford themselves has no problem with cloning a Mustang with Shelby parts.....

Many people try to pass off old cars as originals. It is up to the buyer to check it out completely with VIN numbers and other things but they can be sued if you make a purchase and find out it isn't an original. Good luck collecting and winning in court. As soon as you are the owner of the vehicle you can do anything you want, including putting a Chevrolet Z-28 badge on it if you want. What a rediculous thread this is!

 

anyone for saying a clone is an original thats fine...prosecute them...but if someone feels like cloning one cuz it looks nice...then let them do it. its not anyone elses car but theirs why should any of us worry?? i hope this doesnt get rediculous

 

I say if somone creates a clone that kicks as much boodee as the gt500 does than they are just plain smart. why pay crazy money for a shelby when you can make your own cheaper?

FYI ... a true CLONE car would also duplicate the drive train ... which many of the SHELBY COBRA's and classic SHELBY MUSTANG GT-350 and GT-500 cars do.

I would say I have a Shelby GT500 REPLICA ... not a clone .....

well maybe if dealers did not charge a premium for the cars clones would not exist.

 

Clones will exist due to manufacturer price, regardless if the dealer puts on an additional markup.

Here are the only two I had handy ..... This was right after the install so they are still wrinkly from the shipping box ... they are smooth now ... it's been a few weeks since the install ...

I agree with the ta ta remark. I'm also curious why she was banned. I'm glad she was, especially after starting this thread, but still curious as to why.
