Over the top stripes for vert

Over the top stripes for vert
I was fortunate enough to have one of the last remaining slots for 07 for the GT500 (vert). Dealer tells me that the vin has been pulled. It should be built near the end of the month. I questioned if the stripping on the hood/trunk etc was put on the order. He said it was, but I think that the stripping that was ordered was for the rocker panel only. I don't recall seeing the over the top stripping on the vert, only on the coupe. I think there may be some confusion here. Just wondered if anyone had similar problems with this. I think the stripe makes the car stand tall.
Vistal Blue, premium interior, stripes all over.

The over the top stripes for the vert will likely need to be dealer installed. I don't believe Ford has an order code associated for them although the coupe stripes can be ordered separately.

Go to svt.ford.com and check out the color options page. Choose the convertible and it shows that the rocker panel stripe is standard on the vert....personally, I think the other stripes would be too much for a vert - given that they would only be on the hood and trunk.

I think the stripes look awesome. Too bad Ford did not offer them for verts (except the sides). I have ordered a full set of coupe stripes from my dealer (sans the roof) and they run about $1000, plus installation. A few vert owners have done this and it looks great! (IMO).

The original GT500 convertible did not come with stripes on hood and trunk, so the new one doesn't have them factory installed either.
I like the stripe on the convertible as well and installed them on mine afterwards.

Thanks Doug. When the photo site comes back up I would love to see a side view of your car. If you had to do it all over again. And you almost did. Would you go with the parchment top? I want to put silver stripes on mine just like the Shelby if I get it. I know Shelby went with the black top. I am like you. I think the tan top is cooler in summer , and I think it might even look better with Vista. I like your honeycomb rear panel. Kind of cool to be able to communicate with the leader of Shelby Automobiles.
