Official Canadian Pricing!!!!

My friend who was first in line to get the Shelby at the SVT dealership here in Winnipeg finally got his info a couple of days ago. The dealership called him and already gave him his VIN# and he was told he could expect it in around 8 weeks. The offical Canadian price for the base coupe is $54,711 including freight/PDI. With the options he ordered (including the premium package) and PST /GST, his total came out to just around $62,000 Canadian.

I am sure there are doubters to my listing of the price but that is what the dealership told him. This is not one of those "I know somebody who know somebody..." threads with a bunch of bs.

I sure love my 2006 Tungsten grey Mustang GT but I sure will be jealous when he gets his shelby.

Incidentally, he ordered performance white with the blue stripes .Sirius is also going to not be available on this year's shelby model run(at least in canada).
Obviously, production will be soon if he already has his VIN#. From the time I got my Vin# for my mustang gt in middle of January, it was 4 weeks until my car arrived.

Sorry that I don't have any info on the US price

54,711.00 CAD = $48,940.87 USD

Canada Dollars vs. United States Dollars

1 CAD = 0.894534 USD

1 USD = 1.11790 CAD

Well...this is the current exchange rate...so...unless the canadians get screwed on MSRP, this may be what we are looking at in the US.

I think we (Canadians) are getting screwed on MSRP on regular GT's, because when they set the price our dollar was not worth as much as it is right now.

They may have compensated for the high Canadian dollar when they priced the 07's though, so its hard to tell.

It would be great if our cars were based on the dollar value.
One day if the dollar gets par, i'd love to see our cars cost the same as in the states, THEN i'd be able to afford a Shelby

ok, so the base model V6 in Canada is CAD $23,999, if converted into US that is USD $21,467....that is a 7.8% increase over the US price of the base model V6 which is USD $19,810....

so taking the 7.8% that I would think is probably less for the V6 that it would be for the GT500,( to say that the percentage of price increse will be greater for the GT500 becuase of the small allocation) our approximate price for the GT500 in the USA would be USD $45,123

someone check my math...

just like to add the the US/CA converted difference in price for the base model GT is CAD $32,999 equals USD $29,518.74. While in the us, a base model GT costs only USD $25,860... which is a 9.8% difference....therefore, my theory that the percentage of price increase is different for more powerfull models...plus I remember from that video from the Canadian suto show that talked about the GT500 being priced really high...but I couldnt find that video on the forums...anyone still got it?

My buddy's dealer said they will be $52,000, and all of Canada is sold out already for th '07 model year. Personally, I think his dealer is talking out his ****.

yeah... interest and actually buying are 2 different things.

As for the Base GT in the States and the 'base GT' here...
THe base GT isn't really the base in the states. We have a bunch of options like the Shaker500 etc which are standard on the car here, so its not a straight conversion, you'd have to factor in the options as well.

He's definitely talking out his ****...and what he's saying smells like 'you know what' to me.
