Who will be the first to take delivery of a GT-500,
Pay a $20K AMV for a total of $70,000 with sales tax, registration, etc.
Then total it and get paid about $35,000 for it by their insuance company?

Sorry, but I really don't understand your post.

The $600K Shelby purchase was a publicity stunt with the money going to charity.

Can GAP insurance coverage for amount financed above MSRP be purchased at the FORD dealer if financed through Ford Motor credit?

GAP insurance covers the difference between purchase price and the value of the car. For example you buy a new car for $25,000. If you total the car the day you drive it off the lot the insurance company may say it's worth only $20,000 so you're stuck paying the $5K difference to replace it.

Unless something has changed, yes you can get GAP insurance from Ford Credit. But it is a ripoff. When I got my 03 Lincoln LS Ford credit wanted 3 times what my auto insurance company wanted for GAP insurance.

I don't know if anyone will write a policy for above MSRP.

I realize that the GAP insurance comment was a joke, but seriously...my bank (USAA) includes GAP coverage as a feature of their auto loans. No extra cost and the interest rates are extremely competitive. I am not sure if you can get loans from them without being military, but it is worth a try for anyone.

However, they will only loan you MSRP + 10% for any new vehicle. Anything over MSRP is out of your pocket and wouldn't be covered.
