A friend of mine bought his new 07 GT500 in late 2006 for $42K (which was about $1500 below MSRP), but he knew a dealer in the midwest who owed him a big favor.
A couple other friends of mine own new GT500's and paid over MSRP ($5K to $15K ADM's). We were sold out where I work, so I couldn't get them one.
The dealership I work for is very competetive with pricing and we had better prices than the other dealers around us, but we still had ADM's (it's the only new vehicle we've put an ADM on in many years). We sold two of our GT500's for $25K over MSRP, four for $10K over MSRP, one at $8K over MSRP, and we have one on our showroom floor today for about $8K over MSRP.
We're inching closer and closer to MSRP - as are most other dealers - but, the market is still a few thousand above MSRP on GT500's. Sure, there are exceptions out there, but they are rare.

I posted my agreement in the "Owner Roll Call" thread in this forum. The price is clearly listed on it.

MSRP deal here. Read about my purchase here:
http://www.stangsunleashed.com/forum...howtopic=12843
I called the salesman first thing the morning after reading about this car and asked two questions:
1) Please confirm availability &
2) Confirm $47,255 (MSRP) as the bottom line.
He confirmed both to which I said, "Consider it sold." We then, through many faxes, wrote up the deal and finalized my purchase. I picked it up two days later.

All I know is I live in CT and there is absolutely no way in hell that any dealer in this state would sell a GT500 for MSRP. Every dealer I call say the same exact things to me, "I know I can get 10k over for this car so why should I sell it to you for MSRP". Alot of dealers here say they bought the car from another dealer over MSRP and they have to sell it high just to make a little profit. It's always the same lines Pretty fustrating.,,,, Anyway, enjoy the new ragtop and put some pics up, it sound like a beauty.

Even though I got a good deal in another state, I will say this. I was at a local dealership a couple of days ago and walked the showroom. They had two GT500s, a coupe and convertible. The convertible had a $20k ADM and the coupe a $25k ADM. Ya know, as long as there are idiots out there that will pay these prices, the dealerships will continue to do this. I showed my wife these ADMs which she did not believe considering the price I paid. I said to her, "It makes me feel REALLY good to have gotten such a deal on my car." She totally agreed.

I could not find an MSRP deal (or even close) in my area. So I would just surf eBay every week or so to see what was out there. The auction I bought my car from didn't even show a picture of the car in the gallery. It had a picture of the wheel. This intrigued me enough to open the auction, and there it was. A triple black convertible with a high bid of $45K, reserve not met. I would have blown it off, as I have many before, but in the text of the auction, the seller indicated that this car "had to go". So I called them, and after a little negotiating, I got it bought for MSRP. Sometimes you just have to be in the right place at the right time. The car is several states away, and I have to have it shipped to me, but that only cost $450.

Try going in person. They prob get several phone calls a day from non-serious buyers. Go in person and make them an offer at MSRP. If they say no, give them your phone number and ask them to call you if they change their mind. When they realize the ADMs are dead, they'll call you. I'd do this to every dealer you can find. Eventually one of them will come through.
The guys who paid over in the first place will likely have to take a beating on it. The longer they wait, the worse it gets. You might catch them when they are desperate and willing to take the loss before it gets too deep.
Good Luck.

Well, the car arrived yesterday. It was filthy dirty. I got it cleaned up today, and there is one small dent in the rocker panel and several scratches on the left side. One rock chip in the hood. I'm furious with the transport company, but I don't imagine they will do much about it. Fortunately, I have some connections and can get it all repaired for free, but it still irritates the hell out of me.
The dent is down low, just above the plastic molding on the rocker panel. My friend that pulls dents for a living says he can get 75% of it out by using a puller. I don't want him to drill any holes to use his tools, and I don't want to paint on the car, so I guess I'll let it go at that.
