I am seriously looking to order a white with blue, Cobra Vert. Does anyone know of a dealer with an allocation that is available and won't weiner me around.

Sadly, I will be selling this when I get my build date.

Good luck. The guy by me said he has two on allocation. The first one was spoken for "no matter what the cost." It is a dealer, so take it for what it is worth, but $10k+ seems like the minimum starting point, so I getting the feeling the dealers are going to be greedy about this for quite a while.

No offense, but why not just wait till year two, and buy one at MSRP? I wouldn't pay the AMV just on principle alone. You are bending over twice, because when the time comes to sell the car, NO ONE will factor the depreciation based upon the MSRP + the AMV. You will lose huge $$.

Plus....if you are finanacing...there is no way you will have that $10K AMV/markup paid off of the loan after the first year......and you havent even started paying for the car yet....

I'm not financing. I don't owe anything on my 05.
I would like to be one of the first to have one. I would like to order one. I would like to be one of the first to have one. I think that might be worth paying more.

is because of people like you that everyone else gets screwed... market has a demand, yes, it's true, but when you show desperation (paying 10K more than someone that might wait a few more months and pay sticker price), then the market goes off balance, and it gives them a reason to stay that way

I wish you luck in getting the car. Although 10 grand over sounds steep, people most likely will be paying a lot more than that. Unforunately for those guys, their cars will depreciate even more when they drive off the lot. Kinda like all the guys that paid 5-10 grand over MSRP for the 05 Mustang GT when they first came out. A guy in my area paid almost $12,000.00 more for his 2 months before mine arrived and now his is actually worth less than mine

I don't think you can blame me. I want one and I don't think I will get it if I don't pay and I have to wait. I could go an buy a Corvette for the same money, but would I get the best car?

If I can have one for a year or two before the price settles down, then why not. I am not desperate. I love Mustang Verts. If I could buy a vintage Cobra vert for 50 to 60K I wouldn't be looking at this one. That is my ultimate dream car, but that is out of my range.

Short of dressing for your Sweet Sixteen party that's exactly the picture you're painting. You do it here, it doesn't matter. You do it out there, they've got you by the *****.

A sales manager once told me hard sells present a challange and are the most enjoyable. Your offers might be construed as desperation by people whose background an integrity are unknown to you. With few exceptions, car salesmen are usually very street wise, some of them might even be on a work release program. So, let's fantasize for a moment. If you were in the in the joint with one of these guys, who do you think would be the beach?

BTW, I am not being offensive. I am trying to get a point across which apparently seems very elusive.

Why do some guys wear Rolex's, drive 100K cars, live in big houses, etc...

Because they can. I'm just trying to get my point across.

Knock yourself out.

Whether you understand it or not, you and those who are following your foot steps are making it difficult for others who also have dreams, some of which are members here. In other words, you are not exactly the ideal teammate to have or help.

Perhaps others won't be as candid, but to help you one might as well put a noose in one's neck. I've helped quite a few get good deals on their dream cars, including some TMS members without any financial compensation and I am happy about it. You would be the last one I would ever help. For their sake, I hope other members feel the same way.

Hey, if you want to throw your money away so that you can be one of the first to own these cars, I say that's your perogative. I hold no ill will towards you for making that choice.

Me? I can easily wait till year two, because you won't see many of these on the road at ANY time, so I don't mind the wait. I'd also prefer to wait till Ford irons out any bugs that may show up in year one.

I'll go ya one further: you won't get financed in the first place if you're forced to pay AMV. If the bank is taking the car as collateral, no way in Hades they're gonna finance the rape charge.

If you want it bad, you'll get it bad. Good luck, because I doubt most dealers will "let it go" for "only" 10K over MSRP. I'm anxiously awaiting the GT500's arrival here because I can only imagine what dealers here will ask - I'm in need of a good laugh.

Why, I might as well have leprosy because I am willing to pay more for one of the most exciting cars to come along in 30 years. I didn't ask for your help. You are the politically correct voice of TMS Perhaps you are, but you are insulting, incorrect and not a voice for me.

Is it some kind of immoral thing to work hard for my money and spend it as I like? Some guys have Harley's, boats, and other toys they pay lots of money for. I see you have a lot of mods and you spent money on them. Did anyone call you a moron when you kept adding stuff to your car?

So I get what I want. I'll wave to you in my blue and white Cobra Vert.

Thanks for your opinion. Everyone has one. Good For You

It's your money, do what you want. But it's suckers like you that the dealerships LOVE as well as the reason they continue to add dealer markups. For that kind of dough, I would own a C6.

I have a bid on EBAY right now for a certificate to have the right to one allocation at a dealer and I am only up to $20,000.00 over MSRP My salesman even promised me I can pick out my own options! No, you certainly didn't. Although I will hint you are posting in a open forum where there are quite a few with strong bonds and I intend to protect them even if the issue at hand does not affect me, which in this particular case it does not. My deal is sealed, I just want others to have theirs.

I'm a fellow forum member, so why don't you stick up for my right to get a Cobra (If I can even get a dealer to sell me one.) How about my right to pay over sticker? I paid 8K under sticker on my F150 King Ranch, I wasn't stupid then. What is a give-away? I am just determined to have one.

It is evident you have not figure that one out either. Because, not too many members express their enthusiasm by bragging. You of all people should understand that. Weren't you the one that had a Big Gulp spilled in your white and blue vert's interior by some unknown admirer at a convenience store?

It might be deja vu but it seems we have had this conversation before.
