Last Saturday, I got to walk around a new Challenger SRT8. It was very nice. What really appeals to me about the car is that it is "new". Second, the styling is nice and it has a 425hp Hemi and 20inch wheels. What I didn't like about it was that it is HUGE! It also has the same interior as my friends Charger R/T. The car sits too high IMO, and it isn't very mean sounding either. Plus, its a Dodge!
I like the car, and it might be a good investment, but after seeing it, I still wanted a Shelby GT500!

I think the car's biggest fan base is/will be guys like myself who grew up with the original Challenger/Barracuda. That said, I also think it's great that like the Mustang, it looks like nothing else on the road. And finally, I know I keep hearing people talk about how "huge" the car is but, to be honest, the S197 is also "huge" when you see it next to many other cars. I remember when I had my custom Cadillac in a show last year, there was a brand new Roush Mustang sitting next to it and God's honest truth, the Mustang made my Caddy look small! The car towered over mine. I know it's really not a "huge" car but it has a rather tall, massive look to it. Wish I could find the picture I had of the two cars side by side, but it was on my cell phone and I deleted it. Thought I might have saved a copy but so far can't find it.

The Challenger does sit high compared to cars like the GT500. Yes, I know the new Mustangs are much bigger & taller than the Mustangs of the past, but seeing the Challenger in person made me automatically think of the Charger & Chrysler 300.
I do like the car, and wouldn't mind having one, but I still prefer the Shelby.
