Yeah, you'd think for all that money spent the least they could do was have the stripes painted on.

The '04 Cobra was about $36K. Estimating a 3% annual inflation rate the '07 would be around $39.5K. The upgrades justify the difference on the proposed MSRP. I fail to see the how it would be financially possible having painted stripes being included.

For the guy that donated the $600K, I am sure he can afford to get his own stripes painted.

good thing about vinyl is that if you decide to change the color of stripes, you can take them off. However, I still think painted stripes are better

Oh yah vinyl subject to fading and such ? no thanks you would have to repaint maybe anyway way you have them . As for the guy that paid 600 I would to if I had that kinda money and Most importantly for the cause that its going to ! I'd do it in a heart beat. so that's just a dream for me untill then I can only do Stupid things Like I did this evening + emailed Ford gave them a lenghty essay of why I want a Shelby GT-500 as I do not feel I got the right feeling from where I picked up my 05 GT. So if Ford helps me with my Quest I see it as incrediably smrt or the dumbest thing I ever did. I'll see tomorrow upon my reply. bla, bla, bla.

Yes but for the $45k MSRP for this Shelby...an extra $5k they certainly can afford to paint them on. Hell they are charging $5k on the Ford GT so its the same here except you only get vinyl.

Too bad they don't give you a discount for the stripe delete...if they did, you could use that money to pay for a portion of the painted stripes. What a nitnoid thing to go cheap on for a $40K+ car.
