BTW, the '08s will have performance gains and there is no price increase. Also, GM honors vendor discount plans for employees of companies dealing with them. It amounts to around 10% off the MSRP.
I had heard they do not honor Employee discount plans on the vette but, that is 3rd hand rumor. No that Ford did either........

The local dealer were I live was willing to honor vendor discount which apparently is a little less than the employee discount. I don't know about other dealers. It might depend on the particular dealers whether they want to honor the different plans or not.

Part of EBAY's price structure for cars (a lot like real auctions as in Barrett-Jackson) there is a % fee of the SOLD price. No sale, no $$$$$$.

Kerbeck will honor supplier price. I would also talk to Rick (Corvette Conti) at EVS Chevrolet.

Greg, I can find this out for anyone who's interested. I married into a GM family and I quality for all their discounts. Offhand, I don't know the answer because I just don't buy new cars. My last new car was an '89 Beretta..... Now to wait patiently for a couple more years for a "used" 07 GT500, as soon as it dips into the $30k range.... In the meantime, my tribute car will do.

Hi Willie - Good to see you online. Hope your trip to Texas went well.

I don't think the GT500 will ever see 30K. Just my estimate of Supply X Demand. @ 30K, every high school kid that works at Wendy's will own one.

Greg,

As well as can be expected. We said our goodbyes. The last thing she said to me was, "I haven't given up yet." For everyone else >> I traveled to see (for the last time) a dear old friend who was diagnosed with terminal cancer, with two weeks to live.....

As for $30k, all vehicles depreciate. This car is no exception. It will bottom out in, say, in seven to nine years (best estimation). It may not be valued at $39.9k in a couple of years (possibly higher) but it WILL eventually be worth less than $40k. I am patiently waiting for that day. That is when I will be making the move..... I did the same thing for my former '03 Cobra. When it was new, people were saying the same thing. But as we all know, there will always be newer, faster, better, more desirable, etc. cars with each passing year.... It's guaranteed to depreciate. The only unknown is how long it will take.

Willie

Ahhhhh, California...the land of fruits and nuts!

.... Which is why I find this price unbelievable. It's at a BMW dealership in southern California. Considered used with 123 miles:

Thats insane. The only way I would pay over MSRP for a car is if it was built in the 60s.
