Cost for a used gt500...
Just for kicks I went to autotrader.com and searched for used gt500's under $40,000 and few came up. I even saw a few that were under $30,000 and had less that 4,000 miles. Are Shelby's really affordable now? These prices are in Terminater range now...anyone confirm?

Then that means the Mustang GT has a higher resale value than the GT500.
$28K, $21K, and 17K?
This might be a good time to upgrade to a Mustang GT before the GT500 prices sink any lower.

Here is what AutoTrader has posted right on the website.
Common-Sense Advice for Buyers
Buying a car you find online is a lot like buying a car through a classified ad in the newspaper. In either case, use your best judgment.
Know the car's market value
Be suspicious of a vehicle priced significantly below market value. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Obtain a vehicle history report
A vehicle history report can provide useful information, such as who holds the title to the car and whether the car has been in an accident reported to authorities. You'll also find out whether the car was ever reported stolen, salvaged or damaged.
Inspect the car
Schedule an inspection with a professional mechanic or an inspection service if the car is not in your area. An early inspection can help you identify problems. However, keep in mind that an inspection isn't a warranty and won't guarantee a car is free from defects or that inspectors have identified all existing problems.
Confirm contact information
Before you send payment, verify the seller's street address and phone number- an email address is not enough. ZIP codes, area codes and addresses should match up. Be wary if the seller is located overseas.
Use email wisely
Avoid sending sensitive personal or financial information (such as your social security number, credit card number or checking account number) to a seller via email. Remember that email communications are not secure and can be easily forwarded to others.
Get a detailed receipt
Ask the seller for a receipt that states whether the vehicle is being sold with a warranty or "as is."
Get title to the vehicle
Make sure you know what's required in your state to transfer title to the vehicle you're buying.

I traded mine a month ago for $40K and $41K with 8K miles and 5,700 miles. $28K? Anything is possible but not likely. In that price range perhaps with a salvaged title or major issue but not in mint condition.
BTW, $21,300 was the exact amount I agreed on a trade for my wife's '06 Mustang GT vert with 17,500 miles which was in mint condition before it was damaged.

I have been looking on autotrader, ebay, and on team Shelby (several of their members have sold their GT500's for very fair prices). I did find several typos on autotrader.com. I saw one for 38k, called to inquire, and was told it was a typo and was suppose to be 48k and the dealer was in the process of editing the ad.
I have found several in the $40k-44k range. Once the house is done I'll be looking for one in that price range........maybe even lower. I spoke to the dealer that I bought by GT from and he said he will order an 09 GT500 for 1k under sticker........It was tempting, but we have way too much going on right now. Makes me think the prices are really gonna start coming down.
