Ouch man, that's a big number, not what I'd exactly call a "real bargain", LOL.....
I'm looking at S/C car in my area... '07 GT Deluxe 5-speed 40k miles, with Kenne Bell Stage 2 PD blower with 471rwhp, updated clutch, suspension, exhaust, always stored in winter, etc. Guy's asking $17k, I think I can score it for $15k.
Problem with a 10-year old modded car is trying to sell it, haha. I haven't even bought one yet, and I'm already thinking of resale.
Which is probably why I should just bite the bullet and scoff up a GT500. There appears to be literally hundreds of GT500's for sale around the country, I am surprised at how many are available, it's actually a little disconcerting and making me think there's something 'wrong' with the older GT500's.
I was in local Mustang speed shop the other day and they had 2013 GT500 which dyno'd at 580rwhp STOCK!!! Yowza, that's dang impressive. The shop guy said they were gonna do a couple of simple tweaks and should get ~700rwhp..... Frak me, that's unreal. I can see the desire for newer models.

I've seen stock '13-'14 GT500s dyno as high as 617 rwhp and over 600 rwtq.
The only thing about the older GT500s, the 2007s had a crank balancer/damper that isn't suitable for higher-horsepower applications, so if you're gonna get a 2007 and plan on modding it, make sure you have a 2008+ OEM damper on the list of must-haves.
Stock, the 2007-2009 cars put down about 435 rwhp, and with a 2.5" pulley, a JLT 123mm intake, and a proper tune, you're easily in the 530-550 rwhp range.
Add a '13-'14 blower and injectors and you're over 630 rwhp for about $3k in mods.
And that's a reliable 700+ crank-HP.
Something you can have fun with every day and every time you put down the right pedal you get a huge grin.
(just put some money aside for some suspension mods and some proper tires, since Ford really skimped in both those areas with the GT500, even more so than the GT.

There is nothing wrong with the early GT500's, but the 07 are 10 yrs old now. No longer the newest, fastest or shiniest car at the dance. I've had mine for 7 years and there's not a lot that would cause me to sell.
mines tuned 560rwhp and has a fair amount of suspension work done to it...it's a blast

I would be interested in seeing what you wind up with & what you paid for it..
......My 14 base-lined @ 585, ( SAE J1349 ), which from what I've seen, is at the low end.

I will keep this in mind and (eventually) post the info.
Meanwhile, do you know anywhere that folks have already posted sales/purchase information? I would LOVE to see what folks are buying and how much they're are truly paying. There are a gazillions of Mustangs for sale and prices are all over the chart, with some guys obviously shopping for a sucker. I don't want to be that 'sucker' that overpaid for a POS, hahaha......

Hey, what do you guys think of this '09 GT500 on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-Ford-Mu...m=182433057074
It seems like reasonable deal, making the power level I am looking for.
Would this car be a relatively comfortable driver, or are those cams (and other mods) kinda radical??
Whatcha think????

Not a fan of one with that many mods unless you really know the driver and trust who the mods were done by. Ugly taillights too. Do love the 2009 model year and it is a great color. I personally would look for one that has a lot less done to it. This one seems a bit molested for my taste. Mileage is good for an '09. Hard to tell condition from those Sh**y pics.

Too many mods for my taste, and I'd definitely not consider anything that's had engine work done, like cams.
Too much can go wrong changing cams on a 4-cam engine. The timing has to be perfect when put back together.

Yeah, thanks guys. I gotta agree with you both. I would actually like to have all those mods IF I KNEW FOR SURE that did the work was done properly. I'd also have to drive that car a little bit.
Thanks again for bringing me back to reality, haha......

This thread is from the SVTP site, there are 2,355 posts starting in 2006, I would start with the newest & work backwards.
