They won't do that it would raise production costs way up.

Well most dealers are asking $80k so they might as well start putting more expensive goodies in the car.

The problem is that extra profit goes into the dealers pocket, not Fords.

Now I wonder if my old post about not building the car is true? It was stated to me to be a weight up front problem. See if this leads into a 4.6 motor now

Its sad that Ford doesn't just put FORD GT internals in this car and maybe an aluminum dampner pulley?

Price would keep going up!

If you all did not know, the first 07 GT500 was auctioned at the Barrett-Jackson auction for $600,000 plus auction fees. So I don't think it gonna delay its appearance.

Lucky him. heck have a lot of fun ing it.

I thought that what was auctioned was "one of the first" production GT500's and what they actually had there was still a prototype for display purposes.

I am pretty sure that the winner (sucker) who won the auction does not have his car yet...but I still kinda doubt we will see any delay in production of the GT500 regardless.

Actually the auction was for the right to buy one of the first when production starts. That really doesn't tell us much about this situation.

EDIT: Here's a link to the auction press release.

For what it is worth, Mark at Ford Performance (formerly SVT) denies that this article is true, and says that Ford will begin production of 8000 units in June 2006. I got this directly from him by calling on 4-24-2006. I am just posting what Ford Performance has said directly to me, and I hope he is shooting me straight.

The question I have:

Does anyone honestly have a DORA and a VIN for their GT-500?

Customers who have ordered regular 2007 Mustang GTs & V6s are now getting DORAs and VINs. So why not for GT-500 orders?

Ford has not been scheduling any Shelby's yet. We have DORA's but that is it.

[attachmentid=47741]For any of you sick of all the Shelby maybe down the road sometime in the future ? Try one of these available now and what a rush who needs a Shelby I'll take a Saleen it is the best unadvertised Mustang mod I found with the best warranty available fromboth Ford and Saleen. It is the Shelby of the 2000's.
at only 435 hp super charged 4.6 It screams 428sj memories to me with today's handling! It's a keeper and I don't miss my
mach 1 at all!!!!!!

I think it is a confusion. The Ford GT motor experienced a couple of front snout crank failured during WOT durability tests that were traced to the fit of the dampner and the way the snout was machined. It actually sent dampers flying through the roof of Roush's dyno room. It was fixed. If this is the same thing (or just old GT info that is getting confused with GT500 info) then it is no biggy. I have noticed that some of the pic going around related to this show H-Beam rods in the short block. But, they also show Roush stamped on the timing chain cover ala Ford GT motor.

Either Hia Tang lost the GT test info and they are having the same problem and need to correct it (unlikely), or this is old GT info that somebody has added to the rumor mill.

And a Yellow....looks like early 90s stang on the left side of the pic. And if you look through the windshield there is a screaming yellow Steeda Q (or clone). Probably staged at a stang show or club get together. This reminds me of the Air force One tagging video that had a bunch of little things in it to tell you it wasn't real.

There also appears to be a yellow fox in the pic, if you look right behind the girl where her knee bends you'll see it!
