Are you a member of any car club?

I am a member of my local (Pierce County Washington) Mustang club and am still a member of the S2000 Club of America, even though I have sold my S2000. In fact our chapter is hosting the annual gathering next year and I will be organizing the group drives and leading drives each day in my Mustang. Car clubs are, after all, about people who share a common interest in a particular car. The car may go, but the friendships endure.

That's awesome, I just went from an S2000 to a Mustang, too! I'm not a member of my local Mustang club, but I would be interested to know how other people like theirs. Down south, there are a lot of negative stigmas about Mustang owners . . . .

I used to be a part of the SVT Club of North Texas back in high school.
Since college is over though, I tried to join Houston's West Side Mustangs but our schedules never really mesh.
The hardest part about getting in with a new club is really getting involved with people you don't know... hoping they're welcoming. A lot of clubs already have their own clicks.
I went to a track day at Eagle Canyon Raceway up north of Fort Worth and met a lot of cool mustang owners there. I kinda wish those guys were down in Houston. Cool, very welcoming, guys.

I joined BMW Car Club of America. I've never owned a Bimer, and likely never will. But they throw very well organized track days around where I live, and being a member you save nearly $100 on their events. Well worth it.
Plus it's fun outrunning ~$50k Bimers with my ~$30k Mustang

There were a lot of "Slowbra" jokes and such, especially with the 2002 and older Mustang owners. But every Mustang owner I've met has been cool, redneck or not.

Well I'm in Florida, but in the deep south part of it. Here, in the car club scene (before I had a Mustang) people would kind of make fun of the Mustang guys as being rednecks or thinking that their cars were way faster than they were.
