The may, but it wouldn't suprise me if they held off on that, and only let the GT get the accolades and press. They may use either Chicago or NY auto shows to unveil the updated GT500 for 2011. Just a guess.

Is that implying that the V6 and the GT will get the same manual tranny? That would be another plus for the V6 in my book.

The Pikes Peaks cars got 800 hp on a 2L IIRC.
But, it was awful in low-speed corners due to the turbo not spooling up quickly enough.
Still......800hp from a 2L........

It's a fact. They have the same transmission.

We won't see the GT500 at Detroit in 2011 form. They already did their pre-press event and that's where all your 2011 GT info got leaked out. My source told me all that came out, and there was no mention of the GT500, as I had even asked him.

If they did release info on 1/11, it would be a surprise to the press as a whole.

I bet you're right. Ford has to save something for the remainder of auto show season!

The F-150 5.0L is going to use the same automatic used in the 2011 Mustang G.T. 6R80. I don't know what manual transmission will be used in the F-150. Seems like it should have been on the list.

No I meant why is it not on the list saying the 5.0 is going in the F-150 too?

Because they haven't unveiled that quite yet. It's coming, but they may run the 4.6/5.4 a little longer.

The 5L was always meant to be in the F150 later than the Mustang.
No surprise its not mentioned.

That and the Mustang needs the 5.0 sooner to be competitive. It can be argued that the F-150 might need it more, but when used as an actual truck and not as a family car/hot rod, the F-Series holds its own just fine. It may not have the most power or be the quickest, but the current engines are still running strong. Let Dodge have their 15 seconds of limelight with the new Ram (which has a great interior, btw) and next year Ford will be back on top in the truck market with the new engines, 3.5TT, 5.0, 6.2 and 6.7!!
