I love the Brembo Package wheels, and the 4-piston calipers/14" rotors fill the wheels much nicer. So it would be a must for me. I still go back and forth in my head as to what interior I would get, and still haven't really reached a conclusion. Lucky for me I'm not buying any time soon I guess...

I am going to get the premium package, it's just more pleasing on the eyes.

Now just need to figure out which rims look the best. I really like the 18" polished aluminum.
Of the non-Brembo wheels, I like those wheels the best too. I just wish they were 18x9. 18x8s on a Performance car with that much power are just so unacceptble IMO, so I think I would keep the standard wheels and save the $ to buy whatever wheels I want later..

I also said the Brembo package because I like the wheels, and you get the upgraded brakes, retuned ESC, and some different springs (ask KC, he posted it first). If you're looking for performance, 3.73s and Brembos are a must-have option.

Lots of good stuff here.

Brembos may not be a night and day difference but when the difference is that 6" of extra stopping power or ending up in a wall or the guy in front of you, it's worth it. It's not necessary until you need it.

3.73's v 3.55/3.31. I guess the jury is still out. If racing at the strip is not in your future, the 3.31s are probably fine. I think that 3.73s given the 6 speed 1st gear ratio of 3.66 is a bit steep for me and probably will require an extra shift within the last 100 feet or so of a run. Dunno but I'm sure that question will get vetted out once a few more of these cars are on the road.

I must apologize for my last couple of posts in the thread.

I am in a rare mood today and no malice was intended towards anyone. Just one of those days.

I haven't seen the gear ratio/rear end combo posted but I'm getting the feeling that 3.73's in the 6spd are like 4.10's in the 5spd in the 4.6. First gear is pretty useless and you have to make another shift in the quarter.

That's why I'm thinking the 3.55's in the new 6 spd may be similar to 3.73's in the 5 spd. First gear is useable and can finish the quarter without an extra shift, and get that extra acceleration in between compared to the 3.31.

Evo's vid of his quarter shows him shifting into 4th each time but I wasn't able to learn what rear end he has.

For brakes, the guys that race cones in parking lots notice fade from the stock GT brakes (05 - 10), and seems like I read the same for guys at Barber with a lot of high speed braking. But when your buddy in the Charger or Camaro give you static about not having Brembo's, remember they're driving lard butts!

I'm with ya! That extra shift makes no sense to me. But the .73s for someone who runs 1/8 mile might be great.

The 1st gear ratio is 3.66 in the 6 spd so its like running a 4.05 rear gear in the '05-'10s.

1st gear w/ 3.55s in the 6 spd = 12.99
1st gear w/ 3.73 in the 5spd is 12.60.

So pretty close with the .55s.

We'll see!!!

Also Automobile June 2010 said "Ford uses 5 different steering calibrations for the Mustang depending on V6 V8, Stick or Auto, or GT with Brembo". Just my 2 cents again Ron

Rear cam over HID's? Really??

You can have my HID's when you pry them from my cold dead eyes. As for rear cam, 100+ years of parallel parking and suddenly that's a necessity?

Seems like Ford does more with the Brembo package than they have advertised. I don't think a lot of people realize the ESC is changed for it.

I agree. I don't need a cam to help me park a car. On a F350, it works great, not so much on a Mustang.

It's funny, I was dead set on getting a Camaro for over a year and saved 15k for a down payment. Now that the 5.0 is out I have no interest at all in the Camaro... lol

None of my friends want me to get a mustang. I told em to f*** off, I'm not buying the car for you.

Placing my order July 1st for '11 GT Premium, Brembo's, HID, Security, Comfort, Manual, Black! =)

HIDs have to be experienced to be appreciated. IMO- they are worth every penny.

One quick question.

If you don't get the 3.73 when you order your car is it more expensive to get later on or the same price?

On my 08 its been quoted for 459$ Installed with 3:73 Gears. So I guess it could vary. If I would have had the option though, I would have bought the gears with the car. As for the brake kit, I would get that as well if I was ordering. In truth, you could probably find a big break kit on the cheap sooner or later, I did, I bought a New stoptech Saleen kit for 700$ did the install myself, but if I had the option, I would have bought em on the car.

So yeah, if I was to order a new 5.0, it would be Brembo package, 3:73 rears, and probably the cloth seats.
