2011 GT Base with 3.73 and Brembo's, Manual?

2011 GT Premium with 18" polished alumnium rims, HID, comfort package, manual?

I'm trying to keep the cost down so getting brembo's with the gt premium might be out of the question or I might save for another 2-3 months before buying.

Opinions?

Why does it matter what we want? Get what YOU want and fits within your budget. Personally, if it's a car I'll race a lot, I'd go with the Brembos. But for a daily driver, the creature comforts are more important.

Always go with the premium. Better resale value. You can always add mods later.

Hmm. I'd try to combine. Premium with 3.73.

Brembos can be added more easily than a differential (I think. Modders?)

Wheels can be added later.

HID are much more costly to replace.

I only went for the comfort package because I'm ordering a convertible, and the heated seats mean I can use it later in the year. Otherwise, I'd pass.

BUT -- in the end, you should get what you really want. No wants to have regrets in what should be a fun car.

I agree.
Those big speakers and amps add weight for no good reason.
If I want to listen to a stereo, I can do that at home.
I never listen to the stereo anyway.
I just roll down the windows and listen to the music.

Thanks for all the replies. How much would it cost to get the brembo's later on? Why did ford only put them on the front of the car and not the rear?

I don't get this argument. The creature comforts, or ammenties, are what you enjoy each and every time you drive the car. I wouldn't get a base just to shave a few milliseconds off my ET. Even if the premium weighed another 100lbs do you really think you could tell a difference? I don't think so. Just my 2 cents...

Can you feel the difference between a 13.0 second car and a 12.9 sec car. No but a 12 second car is still a 12 second car.

Why did Ford acid dip T-Bolt fenders - less weight. Why did they offer radio and heater deletes - less weight. Why do we have aluminum hoods on our cars - less weight. Why are 17" rims better than 20" rims - less unsprung weight.

I've got a Cali Special now. I will NEVER have a car with leather seats again. This was the first and last one.

I have used the ambient lighting maybe a half dozen times and only when I need to find my drink at o-dark-30. The stereo works and sometimes comes on by itself. All the other stuff I don't notice.

So will it make a difference if my butt isn't toasty or I have to manually adjust my seat once every two months? No. This is stuff I just don't need and was included when I bought the car so I didn't have a choice. Would I pay more for stuff I don't need or care about. No. If you like this stuff.. enjoy.

Last, I don't needs a GPS..I can read a map.

Off soap box now and I feel better. If you like the techo gadgets and amenities, great - have at it. I don't and 100 lbs is worth a few 10ths and I want a 12 second car.

I have the standard 08 Bullitt brakes - 12.4" dual piston with the special B pads on front. Rears are 11.8" with GT500 pads.
I have had to do an emergency stop at 65 when an idiot started to pull out in front of me. Stopped on a dime!
My fav 2 lane twisty drops 3000' elevation in 30 mins with plenty of hairpins, switchbacks and 180's. I have never felt a hint of fade.
I think Brembo's are only needed for braggin' rights or racing.
As to 3.73's I think the jury is still out with the new trans. 3.55's may be the better combo - you''ll have to read up on that.
As long as I have leather seats and a leather wheel I'm good. And I don't like all the electric junk - it gets outdated too fast and I hate the smears on touchscreens. And LCD's can't always be seen in glaring sun.
The Shaker 500 is great for me - because I'm a machine head and like listening to the V8 symphony like others have mentioned.
IMO

Pretty much. The stopping distance is negligible. Brembos won't fade when (if) you road race the car.

So I've come to the conclusion that I'm never going to go to the race track and I don't live near the mountains so I probably won't need the Brembo breaks.

I am going to get the premium package, it's just more pleasing on the eyes.

Now just need to figure out which rims look the best. I really like the 18" polished aluminum.

you know that the cars as optioned the way you listed vary in price by +$2725 for the GT premium

why not get a GT premium with the brembo pkg and 3.73 for +$475 over the GT premium you listed

i was debating the base with the brembo pkg and 3.73 to save a few dollars but it wasn't what i had to do

i ended up with a GT premium with brembo pkg, sec pkg and 3.73 so i can:
1. put a wider tire on the 19x9 wheels - 275/40/19, and i like the different look
a. the larger brakes are a plus, i bought the pkg for the wheels
2. not have to put in a new ring/pinion if i thought down the road 3.31 was too tall
