Worst Clutch Ever?
While the show was entertaining, there was a part where the host complaining about its clutch. All I can say is my left leg had more muscle than my right (and I'm right handed). It was a great workout - there is really no 'heel resting' on this clutch because it requires you to push in full force - double clutching was fun however.
Now, I must try GT500.

I try to make this car my daily driver as much as I can! (as long as it's not raining) lol
I'm thinking we will be taking out the assist spring also.
Question for everyone with a 13'-14' manual car.
So my husband and I have drove many manual vehicles. This clutch in this car is horrible. Don't get me wrong we love our Shelby but the clutch doesn't disengage until at the top of the pedal.
Most, wait ALL the other manuals we have both driven have disengaged at the near bottom of the pedal. So what is up with this set up? I wish this clutch was adjustable..... Took it in for the first oil change and the SVT mechanic said that is what you get.
Does it make a difference if short people drive these cars? My husband and myself are 6'2" and I have long legs. I have my seat all the way back (which is very comfortable) I still don't like the disengagement of the clutch. I feel like my knee is going to hit the steering wheel! The clutch disengagement is not comfortable for the vertically inclined.
So is this the common thing in these cars? Can this be changed?
I just hate being so careful at the stop signs to take off and not look like it's the first stick I have drove, ever....... don't want to bunny hop it lol
Is this clutch tricky in the GT's also?
I must say this clutch does take some getting use too! Does anyone else have this problem? Give me your feedback!

I like what the Edmunds editor said about their long-term Mustang GT test car.
I don't love the clutch takeup and shift feel you get with this Getrag six-speed manual gearbox, but somehow it's all well suited to the car's personality. There's a slight brutality and imprecision to the way gearchanges come together, as if the car's saying, "eh, close enough."
Heel-and-toe downshifts never feel as perfectly right as they do in something like the NSX, but they feel good nonetheless and sound even better. Most importantly, our Mustang's gearbox still feels just like it did when the car was new.

Overall I would call that pretty accurate.

I came from driving Jeeps and trucks; there was no such thing as leaving your foot on the floor to engage the clutch. Too much travel required. Going to the Shelby, I actually find it easier and more of a natural action to shift it. It took a few shifts to get used to it, but since then it's felt like a really high-powered car should feel when shifting. I like it. It feels right.
CANT AGREE MORE!! DON'T LIKE THE CLUTCH TRAVEL... ITS WAY 2 LONG
also I get a huge "metal clunk sound" when i shift from 1st to second 2 to 3rd
especially after a cold start.
2013 GT
anyone else experiencing the same problem?

I get it sometimes, but I'm sure mine is driver error. You have to be right on for the 1-2 shift or she'll clunk.
A clutch like a car is something that one gets used to over time. All cars are different and the operation will be and feel different. A high release point in a clutch a very good thing.
I have a good friend who has a crazy 1990 5.0(that has a built 6.0 in it now) and the clutch is so stiff you have to stand on the darn thing.
With great power comes great clutch
