Steve, you will love colly 845. It's what I have on winter cars. And you know me and detailing. That's like you and moderating.... hehehe. Remember to apply thin, then layer 2 to 3 coats. Then sit back and go through 4months of Midwest winter with a smile.

Edit...all these questions about colly 845. You guys don't want me to pull up all my threads and reviews on other forums about it do you? Lol

Right now my winter prep plan is as follows:

-Swap to winter wheels and tires
-Install lower fascia block offs, possibly remove brake duct hoses.
-Remove front splitter
-Wax vehicle with good, long lasting wax (going to try Collonite 845)
-Treat windshield with Aquapel
We don't have snowy winter months

My car's only a little over 2 months old but for the winter I waxed her about a week ago, used Meguier's Carnauba Wax (I love it, it's easy on, easy off and when I touch the black plastics it wipes right off, doesn't leave a white residue like so many other waxes out there), and that's all I've done so far.

I keep looking into winter rims/tires since the car is equipped with the don't-drive-when-it's less-than-40-degrees-out summer tires right now ... and while they're great on dry and wet pavement so far, I don't plan on trying them out in the snow ...

I haven't bought snow wiper blades yet, but I plan to.

The main winter/snow car will be the Focus, unless the sale goes through and I end up buying an AWD or 4x4 vehicle like I'd really like

Those of you looking for 845, Detailed Image has a sale and $2.99 shipping. Might be a good time to stock up on those other supplies you were on the fence about.

Something else I forgot to mention, I seal the wheels with Poorboys Wheel Sealant before putting them on.

Can anyone recommend some interior care tips? I want to get WeatherTec mats, but they don't have the 2013 models out yet. Any carpet / leather care products to suggest? I have some Lexol that I'm going to use on my Recaros, but that's all I've got so far.

Leatherique or Leather Master. I'm a big fan of the Leatherique Pristine Clean for my go-to cleaner.

Ordered the 845, as well as some 303 Fabric Guard and Fabric Cleaner from Detailed Image. The coupon code "preholiday12" gets you $2.99 shipping and a few freebies as well. I should have a coat of 845 on the car by the end of next week (slated to get here Monday). In the mean time, I'll pull the winter tires out, clean them (didn't get a chance to when I moved earlier this year) and coat them with Poorboy's Wheel Sealant. Hopefully, when I decide to swap wheels, I'll be able to wash the summer wheels off before I throw them on the rack.

Husky Liners has a set for 2013s. They are made in the USA and I think are nicer than WeatherTech because of the higher lip: http://www.huskyliners.com/site/?cal...oduct&catID=17

I have the Ford rubber all-weather floor mats in my Mustang and I love them.

So much so that I bought a set for the Focus too.

The GF has a Ford set in her Fiesta too

And they were all cheaper than what WeatherTech wanted for their rubber mats ...

Interesting.. I never knew Husky made model-specific, molded liners. Do the 2013 ones have the anchors for the passenger side footwell? I think that's really the only difference between the 2010-12 and 2013. If so, I might pick up a set of these.

My 2011 ones don't have anchors, but there are indentations in the rubber for those anchors. The mats fill the entire footwell and don't move thanks to all the little spikes on the bottom. Hard to go wrong with these - I also have the trunk liner and I just leave it in year round so I don't have to worry about spilling anything in the trunk.
