unfortunately.... a V-12 or V-10 doesn't sound as bad *** as a V-8... they're too smooth. They purr like a kitten. My brother-in-law built a T-Rex (for those who know what that is.... if not, it's a 6X6 Dodge Ram) using a '95 Ram with a V-12.... he has Flowmasters on it... and it just doesn't sound like you'd expect it to.

exactly, that's why it would be awesome to see how this one would turn out even if there won't be a car to put it in. though it would be sweeter if Ford used such an engine for a successor to the GT. easy 500hp - minimum.

clintoris, i agree that v8's sound pretty bada**, though it depends - Ferrari/Maserati v8's actually sound pretty smooth. i also admit that even the import v8's sound good with the right exhaust as well. though v10's and v12's are smoother - they still sound good (except for the early Vipers). just a different flavor... (Lambo V10 and Ferrari V12 in particular) definitely better than a flatulent 4!

Man let me see if I can find it, yeah here it is! The most baddest assest V12 I've ever heard. Granted, its a race car and this is only a brief clip of the car idling by, but man what religous experience! http://www.earthflix.com/stories/jag_xj13.php

Where did you read that in this thread? There was plenty of discussion about how a 60 degree V8 isn't the optimal configuration but I don't recall anyone saying it couldn't be done. In fact, the Volvo V8 is mentioned several times prior to you bringing it up.
