Who's doing what and why ?

New 2011 GT and V6 powertrains, new 5.4 all aluminium Shelby GT500, new Shelby Gt350, Possible Boss on the way, new redesign coming in 2014, upcoming new powertrains ala Ecoboost double turbo for who knows when, so many cars and possibilities to choose from.
This is mind boggling, but in my case i'm seriously thinking about a 2011 GT with a few options, looking at prices here and there, and if i get an offer that is very good, i'll be buying that is unless i can't sell my '69 Mach1....i need some room. What about you guys, will some be waiting some more to see what else might come up, or just glad the new powetrains are out but won't consider getting one in the near future and are satisfied with their existing cars. Are some of you's afraid of Job1 having some glitches or recalls. These are the craziest Mustang times i have ever seen, too many changes and models to choose from . Hey, hell i'm not complaining, good times to be a Mustang addict.

Hi Dan...I know you are looking at a New 11 Mustang. I would seriously wait for employee pricing in July/August. You will save at least $5,000 off sticker. I would just find out exactly what you want and then wait until then to order. You may even find one on a lot at that time similar to what you want. I know you want it Now...Best of Luck...

It's just that i'd like to have a real driver for this summer, not just be stresed out when i go out for a ride in the '69. Hard on the nervous system when you put so many hours and $$$$ on a car like that. I'd like to take a hard corner, which i can't do with a '69 power steering car. 'Ya know the play you got back in the days, you could actually turn the steering wheel from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock and still be able to go straight. It's that frightening. And that's how they were built.

I really don't know what to do either. Too many choices. Here is what I'm considering:

1. Leftover 2009 GT. Save a ton of money and slap a SC on it. Call it a day. Custom looks.
2. Leftover 2010 GT. Same as number 1.

Save a few more thousand and do one of the following:
1. Leftover 2009 GT 500 Not as customizable looks wise but immense power.
2. New 2011 GT500. Lightweight plus a great interior compared to 09.

The 5.0 is nice but I will have to see what the potential of the engine is. I definitely want a sc but the new 5.0 doesn't look like my best choice. I will test drive one when they hit the dealer lots.

I know whatever I get I will be one happy mustang owner. I don't know what to do. My purchase will beI made late summer '10

I'm definitely waiting for Job 2, because I want to see about the rumoured Recaros and the V6 Performance Pack before making my decision. I also want to see the performance #'s for both the V6 and GT before making my final decision.

i have a 2010 GT, depending on what the leaks on the 2014 i am either going to do a late 2012 GT500 or wait on a 2014 gt500/svt whatever they decide to call it on the redesign.

So when would job two be? 2012s?

I've always thought it best to wait until the bugs are out on new stuff, but ****, it's gonna be hard, (or impossible), this time!!

Job 2 should be mid-summer, and will still be a 2011 model.

I think that no matter how long you can make yourself wait, there's always something that's going to come up during the next couple of years, (probably months), to give you some degree of buyer's remorse.

I need an oracle.

And then, once Job2 starts... the 2012 will be around the corner... the upcoming Boss... etc...etc...

Never ending story Life's too short...

I would like the 5.0 but I can't afford to change since my 10 is so new. I really don't need all that extra power so I'll continue enjoying the 4.6 and making the mods I want .The future looks bright and I can't wait to see what it brings !

I ordered an '11 because i only drive my Stangs in the summer. If i wait until rebates and such come out summer may be over with. I can not afford an SE and am sure they will not be cheap as the price of the GT has gone up.
I think 412 with some mods when they come out will be more than enough to keep a smile on my face.

I would have probably bought a 2010 GT, because they are a great all around package of power, handling and style. When I found out that the 5.0 was potentially coming, then I thought, I could have this already great car, with and even better power train. I know some people are never satisfied with horsepower, but 412hp (may actually be more), in a street car will handle 95% of anyone you would ever come across. Plus, like I said, we do not know the real output, what will a few mods like a tune, cold air set-up will do on top of that? You could potentially be running around with a 430-440 hp car, which not many others have. I always wanted my car to have an honest 300 rear wheel horsepower, now I should have that and then some.

Since I won an AMEX promo I only had to pay $18k for my 2010 GT Premium. 3 years @ 0% interest. I'll have it paid off in a little over 2 years. I want a tuned and direct injected 5.0 which should be in place by the 2014 redesign. When I sell my 2010 I may go with a BMW though, we'll have to see what Ford comes out with.

I'm in saving mode for my down payment. I have my eye on a '10 that has everything I want, minus Saddle interior, but I can easily change that. If that car sells within the next couple of months, I will order an '11 GT. I have been a car guy since birth, and have been trying to get my **** into my dream Mustang since...forever. So many deals have fallen through for me over the years, and now that I worked my *** off in school, graduated with no loans or debt, and got a good job. I'm not waiting anymore. I'm single, no bills other than some CC debt that I'm paying off at the same time. I'm going for it. One or the other. Leftover '10 or ordering an '11.

Thanks Joe. I'm so close to getting something, I can taste it! I'm just forging through these next 6-8 weeks and trying not to look online, as I have the page for the car that I'm looking at bookmarked. I'd be perfectly happy with a 2010 if it had the options I want, especially at the deals we can get them now. If it does sell, then I just have that much more to save up for a bigger down payment on a special ordered (more expensive) 2011. So either way, my payment should be roughly the same. The wait is killing me though! Especially with all the "I ordered my 11" threads!

Goog for you bud, you live once. GO FOR IT ! Hopefully no SWMBO in the equation to make you think twice about your dream car.

Pretty much the same boat for me, except I'm waiting to time my order so that my xplan will be active when it arrives (early May).

All the "I just ordered" threads make me anxious lol
