Whipple Vs Hellion

Well, I have an outstanding list of modifications I plan on doing to my car and this is just one of those things . Ive been looking around for a few weeks now and these are the only two kits that I find myself really interested in. However , Ive never been in a Supercharged, OR turbocharged GT. Ive been in various modified GT500'S and WOW i love the feeling of the blower. I'm just unsure what I would rather have in my own car. The sweet whine of the Whipple, or the sick turbo spool from the Hellion. As far as performance goes both will easily put out 475whp and 450wtq. So I have no doubt about the performance figures from either kit. The Whipple costs about $1000-1500 more so that's the downside to the Whipple. However Id love to hear from some of you guys who've been running these kits and how you like them. I'm looking for about 500-550 WILD , SNARLING horses underneath my hood. And when i take people for a ride i want there face to be RIPPED off from the savage acceleration. Now with that being said. Which kit do I go with?

I have no idea, but you should consider posting this in the 05-09 section also. There's a lot more guys over there with supercharged motor who might be able to help you out.

Where are you located? In most states, turbo kits aren't smog legal, so that is one thing to consider. The FRPP Whipple kit is 50 state legal...

It really depends on what you're trying to achieve with you car. Is it your every-day driver, or just a weekend warrior? Do you drag race it or autocross it? Just my opinion, but you can't beat a positive-displacement supercharger in terms of function throughout the entire RPM range. Conversely, a turbo really needs to "spool up" to make boost. Once it does, though, look out!
