Where do you keep your Tuner?

I purchased a SCT tuner recently and was wondering is it smart to keep it someplace in the car? I don't really see why I would need it on the road but who knows? What say you who have them?

I keep it in a bag in my house with a laptop and cords for when I data log. I personally don't change tunes around and it would be a huge pita if it was taken out if my car and lost.

I keep it in the center console. I never drive this car in sketchy areas and I keep it on hand in case I want to show off the lope tune or I need to change anything (like tire size if I put my spare on, etc).

mine usually sits in my 'car room' in the house. If I think i might wanna adjust the tune on a road trip, i'll keep it with me but never in the car when i'm not there.

+1. Mine stays at home locked away with a USB cable. I rarely ever take it with the car and only if I think I'll be changing a tune (i.e. at the track), but I tend to run just one tune for all needs anyway.

Either in the pocket on the back of the passenger seat or in the spare tire well. I take it with me because I had one time where I was running a 93 octane tune, and all I could find in that area was 89 octane. Was glad I had it with me so I could swap tunes and not worry.

That's exactly why I'm thinking of keeping it in the car I like road trips and you just never know what grade gas you will find.

I'd rather just get some octane boost if I was forced to put in 89. I'm assuming this was before you had the Hellion.

Yes, before the Hellion. And I wouldn't trust that octane booster - tests show that the "increase" is minimal to non-existent for most of them (Torco seems to be an exception but even then...). And you also assume that you will be able to find a working octane booster in the middle of Ohio farming country - an area that I couldn't find anything more than 89 octane available. Not likely going to find an octane booster that would work or would require me to add a couple of gallons to raise it one point.

Much easier and safer to just carry the tuner with you. If you can't find the octane you need, just swap the tune and carry on.

If anyone can tell me where mine is I'll give them 100 bucks. I put it away in a safe place I now can't remember where it is. I need it now to pass inspection so I guess I'll have to buy a new one.

So why do you need it to pass inspection? Are you saying it will not pass with a Tune? I would have figured maybe in CA but not NY?
