Wheels on GT question

I ordered my premium GT with the stock wheels. I notice now that the wheels have a Ford symbol on them but no pony or Mustang logo. Most of the cars I've seen on this site seem to have the pony. First, am I right that mine will have just the Ford logo? And if I am right, is there any way to get the pony on there instead without paying up for fancier wheels?

If you just got the stock wheels then yes they just have the ford logo on the center caps.

I recenlty swapped out the Ford center caps for the pony caps that come with the Brembo equipped cars... It made a huge differenct IMO. I never liked that Ford Symbol right from the get go.

Thanks. From where did you order them? I checked a couple sites, but couldn't find center caps specifically for 2010+ models.

I agree about the basic caps being boring. They look like leftovers from the 1987 Ford Escort production line. I know it's a petty complaint, but for $34,000, I'd expect something a bit nicer.

I Also have these POS stock wheels, the BIG Problem with them is that thier 18x8, therefore NO Drag Radials will really Fit, or for that matter ANY Tire wider than the Stock 235's without a VERY Ugly Bulge that is......Soon as the Weather gets Cold, putting 420+ Horsepower to the Pavement with a 235 ROCK HARD All Season Radial is going to be Impossible...

Is it true you have to remove the wheels to install the new caps? If so, I doubt I'll do it. I don't have the expertise, and I'm not going to pay the dealer hundreds of dollars to do it.

Unless you wanna pry your old cap off with a screw driver and potentially mark up your rims, I would do it the right way and pull each tire off one at a time with the jack provided, or a floor jack if you've got one works well too! It's nothing at all.

I would suggest learning the procedure of chaning a tire anyways, just in case you end up on the side of the road with a flat.

You don't know how to take your wheels off?

And I doubt your dealer would charge you anything to do it. Just tell them you don't have a jack. It would take them 15 minutes to do it with the impact gun.

OK - I'm deficient at wheel changing. It's a fact. Never have done it before and hope I never have to. Honestly, I have trouble changing light bulbs. You're right - I should know how to change a wheel. I always tell my wife she should know how to drive a stick shift, but here I am, unable to do another car thing.
