What's the difference?

With reading all kind of threats and postings in regards of exhaust systems for the 5.0, I read also that a lot of you guys (and gals) ordered the GT500 axle back mufflers. I'm sure was wondering about the difference between the FRPP 2011 Mustang GT Sport Muffler Kit and the GT500 mufflers, which were offered in this forum not too long ago.

There sure is a price difference, but what about sound level and difference compared to the 2011 GT stock setup?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The FRPP Sport mufflers are the same piece as the Borla S-type muffler. The GT500 mufflers are what the name implies. I haven't heard either in person but would guess the S-types are louder.

I was thinking the same thing, that the S-Type Borla's or GT Sports must be louder, as they are only approved in 49 States for drive-by noise, but not in California. The GT500 are 50 state legal...

Just was wondering about the weight and dimensions of each...

I know people can get into some heated discussions about which exhaust is the best, but I don't think any threats have been brought to bear...yet.

And it better stay that way, or else...

It's really hard to decide what to get... What I am 100% sure about is, that the stock exhaust is to quiet for me. I want something more throaty, louder and more "muscle car" like...

I know there are a ton of manufacturers and systems out by now for the 5.0, but I don't want to spend $2,000 for an extensive exhaust system right now... maybe at a later point.

Looked into Bassani, but e-mailed customer support several times with a couple of questions... no answer! They have authorized dealers listed on their website which either don't carry their product any longer, or are not even in existence any more. What gives? No installation dealer in my area either... so I believe I'll rule this route out.

Steeda's axleback sounds awesome! I had a chance to hear it in person! Just wish it would come with 4" tips instead of 3.5"...

And then there is the FRPP GT Sport axle back, which I wish I would be able to hear in person!
