This car is my week-end warrior, cruising car, and show car when I have the time. It has had nothing in it but 93 octane since the 2nd tank (dealer filled with 87). The 87 pinged some on hard acceleration and I just prefer to not run it. Gas is on the rise again and 93 octane ain't cheap.... but I will continue to run it.
I am averaging 19.3 in combined city/hwy driving.

I know that i didn't by my '11 gt to be fuel effecient. I bought it to drive the heck out of it and thats what i do. I use an 93 octane race tune and i dont mind paying the price for 93 octane since i get to drive a awesome car. I'm sure when the price gas gets higher i might start to drive it less but right now. I drive it as much as possible and its a DD for me.

Surprisingly I've been getting 18 mpg in my largish town... Which is pretty much the same as my v6 Genesis Coupe...
However I'm doing A LOT more gas saving techniques lol, I don't gun it at every red light/coast a lot more/turn it off on long lights

I am surprised when I read GT500 owners getting 19-22 avg mpg when that's what I get in my GT. What, are they rolling everywhere? Only upgrades I have are 3:55's and AB's. how is a car with almost 300 more HP & SC get the same MPG? I drive very conservatively most of the time except weekends around town.

Driving very spirited I get about 15 or so on a Brand New Car, and I hit quite a few stop lights no matter where I go. Driving like a complete ******* back from Houston on I-10 I was getting 20 or so.
Sure, it would be nice to get more MPGs, but if I was concerned with that, I would have bought a Prius.

My v6 manual is a daily driver 70% in town and rest on the highway.....so the fill up this morning....Dash indicates 20.7 average but the math shows that last tank at 24.6 mpg. I have had a few road trips that I am seeing by the math between fill ups in the high 20's.
Every fill up and I have done this on every vehicle I have owned, I track....date, miles from last fill up, gallon put in, total cost, cost per gallon. I know to keep my revs down below the 2k mark and life is optimum.

My attitude on MPG? I also bought a 2012 Focus and I drive that when I want to save gas. But mostly drive the Mustang and don't care about the mileage too much with this car.

I drive my '14 GT about 10k miles/year. I'm getting an average of 18mpg in mixed driving...
Figuring I would be getting 23mpg from the V6 with the same driving, I would save about 120 gallons of gas per year with the V6 vs. my 5.0. Even at $4.00 a gallon for premium, that's about $40 per month. Given my 5.0 puts out about 120 extra hp (I have a tune) vs. the V6, that's a cost of $0.33 per horsepower a month.
So for less than the price of a cup a coffee per day, I get a huge grin when I make the tires break loose in 2nd- I'd say that's good value for the money!

I only have about 1800 miles on my 14 and I'm getting around 25mpg cruising on the highway and 18-21mpg around town...just depends on how much I want to enjoy the sound of my exhaust at each light
