Yup Still early on but until recently it kept saying 250~ miles on a full tank, so that's a nice improvement

I've also switched the info center to the "arrow" that points to your best efficient driving (the arrow that slides to the left (poor) and right (best) economy). This reminded my of the "econometer" (vacumn guage) I had on an old Dodge Dart back in the 60's.

Still, I can never squeeze anymore than 23.8/23.9 in the city. But I'll keep trying.

If you're trying to hit 30MPG in the city it's going to take some seriously **** hypermiling.

And when I said it's not fun, I mean it. To get that is tedious and at times infuriating.

Only push the gas pedal down about 1/2". Never run above 1500RPM before shifting. You always want to be in the highest gear at the lowest possible RPM.

At steady speeds you should be in 4th by 25MPH, and 5th by 30MPH. Wait until 40MPH to put it in 6th though, it will bog down any slower than that.

Always leave LOTS of room between you and the car in front of you so you can engine break down as much as possible at intersections. Anticipate lights ahead of time, and try to either catch them green or engine brake soon enough that they go green again before you get to them.

Stopping is your enemy. Try to avoid it as much as possible.

If you do find yourself stopped at an intersection, turn the engone off and try to look at the cross-traffic lights to see when they turn yellow before restarting your engine. You never want to sit with the engine idling for any extended period of time.

Like I said, it's seriously **** stuff. Frankly, I think anyone who tries to hypermile one of these cars missed the point of owning a Mustang, but it is possible to do.

But if you're REALLY intent on improving your fuel milage, check out http://ecomodder.com/

Well, this is why I bought the V6 over the GT (for now)...I have to drive almost 200 miles per day. It's cutting down though, as my manager is allowing me to work at a closer building, at my side of town. Once that turns into 5 days a week of shorter distance driving, I plan on the GT....

Maybe that 2015 new model with the split rear axle.....nope; I'll be buying one of those used pristine GT garage queens I read about here with the low mileage!

I usually average around 18-20 in mixed mostly around town driving UNLESS I put too
much pressure on the right pedal. But I am guessing in NYC you aren't going to get good mileage unless you drice an eco-box ! ! Good Luck...
Agree 1000%. Same with me

In the Mustang? Not recommended according to the owners manual....no more that 10% ethenol.

I heard this gas was being phased out anyway. The pres no longer wants to fund the corn growers.

What ever happens is OK. I owned a 66 Malibu back in the 60's and never ever checked the MPG.

My 04 Acura TL (6spd) that was traded on my GTCS I drove like I wanted and it was usually 2000+ miles when I checked what the avg MPG was.

You have a Mustang, enjoy the car!

Why would you? In the 60's gasoline had to be like .30 to .40 cents a gallon.
