What you like see in Mach1 in 08 or 09?
here's my list.
1. Like see the Grabber colors for the Mach1
2. a 6speed auto and 6speed man.
3. 5.4 32 valve V8 over 475hp.
4. Mach1 seats
5. fun. sharker hood scoop
6. mag 500 wheels on it.
7. front chin spoiler.

I would perfer power packages:
- the standard 281 ( 4.6 ) with 300 HP
- A 331 ( 5.4 ) with mid to high 300s
- A 351 ( 5.8 ) with low to mid 400s
It should stay under the shelby 475 HP
It should come with the Mach 1 Package for graphics, interior, dash, seats, lighting, louvers, etc
but knowning how business is these days; they will just stick a super charger in it and walk away ... sigh.
I am debating the triptonic transmission; personally i love them since I drive one. But I perfer the shifter on the floor; paddle shifting is okay. But the retro-design of the automatic shifter makes for a poor triptonic shifter. Having six speeds on the auto is worth it though.
Grabber colors would be nice and a great way to stickout from all the current metallic-based glitter colors.
ehhh all talk until we see it.

Needs to have the styleing cues of the Mach 1 (including Chin, tail, hood etc. blacked out will necessary), the right seats, etc..
5.4 V8 DOHC N/A with a solid 400-425HP, Solid Rear but tweaked from GT, Drag Pack.
And some cool colors THAT MUST INCLUDE AN ORANGE!!

1. 5.4L N/A 375-400 HP
2. Shaker Hood, Chin Spoiler, 69 Mach style stripes, Magnum 500's, and a lower more aggresive stance. FASTBACK (i know that will never happen though)
3. 3.73 gears standard, have a optional Drag Pac with 4.10, hurst shifter and better suspension setup.
4. I want gobs of LOW end torque!!!
5. This one is really important to me, don't let the Mach balloon upto 3900lbs!!! I'd love to see it weigh in the same as the GT.
6. Keep it under 33k.

Does anyone actually know for sure if there will be a 08 Mach1 or Boss, or is everyone just speculating? If ford comes out with a refresh in 09, and Shelby is an 07, I'm worried we might not see a true SE until 2011 or2012.

And if he's reading this, TAKE PICS NEXT TIME darn IT!!!!!
everything here is speculation, chatter, rumors; we are excited, hungry, worried, and fustrated in the hurry up and wait of the SEs.
I am willing to sit on the side lines and wait; I am not worried on missing out because people who camp on these cars and buy dont always keep them and you can find them for sale with really low miles on them.
set aside your coins and wait

Well, yes, it's mostly rumors and specualtions. But, even on this board it has been rumored that Ford is making a Mach. So, it may not be a positive go yet, but I think its fairly sure Ford is looking into with prototypes, etc.
This current '03 Mach 1 owner definately believes that a S197 based Mach 1 is a good idea. Some of the others think it will take away some of the charm of their New Edge Mach's. These will be separated by at least 4-5 years and a different body style. No reason Ford should NOT build us one imho, the nameplate is far too good to let it rest. Team Mustang must keep the pressure on by keeping the hi-po models rolling out. The older generations that ran Ford knew this and made Mustang a legend. Mustang's legendary status is in the books for sure at this point, but I still believe we need to keep pounding away at the competition with the great nameplates. Boss, Mach 1, GT/CS, Cobra Jet, whatever...just build them all!!
As far as what do I want to see? The previous Mach 1's were nearly spot on, give us similar tastes in the next one. Alot of you have already covered the majority of bases the next Mach 1 should have, and the S197 cars are good now, so a bit more HP to keep us happy and keep the price along the lines of the '03/'04 cars, thats is, affordable to the enthusiast!

If you follow the link and read the thread that 05mach1 gave, someone in that thread claims that they have seen a prototype Mach driving around.
And if he's reading this, TAKE PICS NEXT TIME darn IT!!!!!

Frank you got to spill the beans. Did it have the same style shaker as the 69/70 03/04 Machs? Any other details you care to share?
