I have Steeda Sport springs and and adj. panhard bar with a Steeda 93 tune& cai only (stock struts & shocks) & swear I could hang with or beat a stock boss on the track... Go ahead blast me lol.

I wouldn't blast that. It's not hard to seriously increase the performance potential of these cars with aftermarket parts, particularly in the suspension department. The stock brakes on the V6 and GT cars are marginal and can easily be improved for not that much money by way of the aftermarket for example. Control arms, struts, springs, pan hard bar and sway bars can all be improved from companies like Steeda, Koni, SR and others. I wouldn't be at all surprised if your aftermarket parts pretty easily have your car performing as well as a Boss package.

Anytime Ford comes out with a special edition Mustang like a Boss or a GT350 / GT500 they do a fantastic job of generating a lot of hype about said cars and convincing the buying public that you just can't that level of performance from anyone else but Ford. But take it with a big grain of salt. I'm not trying to say that car's like the GT500 don't deliver some great performance. I am saying that the performance they deliver can easily be matched or even bested by way of taking stock GT and using the plethora of aftermarket parts that are available for the car. Often this can be done for the same or even less money that one would spend on said GT350 / GT500 etc etc. So apples to apples the only real advantage to buying a factory GT500 or Boss 302 is the collectable nature of those cars down the road. But from a purely performance point of view, its not that difficult to match the performance of those cars just using aftermarket products.

By the way I like that color blue. Its pretty much the same shade of blue that my 06 GT was. Good choice.

I bet you're close! Not far away from my plans for my 14 GT TP.

How about adding a stiffer rear sway bar, and wider tires out back to take advantage of the sway bar? Then I'll believe you can out-handle a Boss.

I'm quite confident that you're close if not on par with a Boss from the suspension standpoint. The Boss stock still needs more suspension enhancements as most Boss owners commonly do-- coil overs, or lowering springs, Koni yellows, panhard bar/ watts link all elevate the Boss, and are commonly done to GT's also.

The truth is, the Boss' real advantage is in the motor with the higher redline. I will tell you from track experience that the extra revs mean a ton carrying speed through corners. The higher revs and gearing, wheel sizes, steering feel, and higher power output especially combined with track key engine braking are what give the Boss the edge over the GT on the track.

But it is all relative because I'm eyeballing the GT4 now...

Sounds to me like you're easily up around Boss 302 performance at least from a suspension point of view. Nice job.

Thank you for the feedback, 2012GT.

For the price difference ... you could definitely outfit your GT with our suspension package & out handle it.

I just posted this video in another section ... but it really does tell the story!

Especially with the option of the Track Key for non-BOSS owners that changes the game a little.

Nice. Have you considered the white rocker panel stripes?

No blasting at all. I have a 2014 Track Pack with the Boss 302 Manifold, Steeda CAI, Boss side pipes, Roush AB, Steeda 93 tune (7800 redline) Steeda Strut tower brace Steeda HD upper strut mounts, Steeda Sport Springs, Steeda Adj Panhard bar and Panhard bar brace, and stock track pack shocks (for now). Car runs like a raped ape and my buddy who has a stock 2013 boss swears he won't beat me in any situation. That being said my car came from a steeda dealer with everything but the roush AB so I have no clue what a stock gt drives like.

Dampers. Dampers are really the key to a suspension. Get a set of Koni Yellows and you're set.
