Sorry if this has been done before but
Ive seen people in the forums talk about engine choices for 09.

Might also want to throw in some ideas for any new SE's

They'll probally stick with the 4.6 3V for the GT. Possibly the new smaller 3.something for the sixer.

5.4L Aluminum NA with 390HP in the Boss/Mach1/GT 350/Bullitt (to replace GT-500 as the SE)
4.6L Aluminum 3 valve with 320HP in th GT
3.5L 250HP in the V6

A 70HP bump between the 3.

Keep the 4.6, with the option of a 5.4 supercharged. That's what I'm talking about! :^)

3.5 Duratec at 265 hp

Aluminum 4.6 Modular 3V V8 at 320-340hp+a Supercharger as a one-up model(or an SE)

Is the 6.2L still in the works? if so, is it aluminum? I hope, because that would be a good SVT model or something to kick the SRT's around.

SE's? I don't know...should Ford go retro again or come up with something new?

If so, hope that it's aluminum, cast iron has proven too heavy in the GT500.

Something that would wipe the arrogant smirk off of a Chevy fan boi's face in naturally aspirated stock form!

I'd switch the Boss/GT350 and the Mach 1/Bullitt. The Mach's purpose was a musclecar that could be driven around with relative "luxury"(an upscale GT), but the Bosses and GT350's were pretty much all-out racers.

Anyone have any info on the 6.2L Hurricane(especially in a Mustang!)

A 6 cylinder Mustang is always necessary...Ford must sell a bunch of those to gives us enthusiasts our SE models....so...

A 6cyl of your choice..doesn't bother me which one

5.0L V8 for the size, different HP levels of this engine please

5.4L V8 for the size, this one def. DOHC and supercharged like it is now. I would like 550hp out of this one too.

I really think we need to see our beloved 5.0 back!!

Personally,

3.5 V6 4v
4.6 LX 3v
5.0 GT 3v
5.8 Mach 2v or 3v (Actually compete with the 5.7s of the competition w/o SC
5.4 SE 4V SC

I won't go hell-bent for specifications, but the new MOD family starting with the 3.5L V6 should be it. The V6, a new V8 based off it (300+ HP), and a S/C version and/or the BOSS(Hurricane) mill at the top of the range. And they should all come flex-fuel friendly.

I like it!

Actually, I had in mind:

3.5 V6 - for the base model
4.6 V8 - for a GT
5.8 V10 - For an SE (see the Boss 351 concept) The V10 was an experiment, an extension of the mod motor. 430-hp naturally aspirated (no puffer, no blower).

The 3.9 V8 is a great engine, probably the most refined engine Ford NA has ever sold.

But, unfortunately is is no longer in production. The last 3.9 V8s were manufactured in Dec 05.
