Like most of you, I like the front and sides but still not crazy about the back

I never even considered a mustang until this body style. Haven't like the last bunch of body styles.

It grew on me, but still not in love with it. Everything else looks great imo

I think the interior, front and sides were a great evolution of the S197 design. The rear I liked from day one, but it was/is the weakest part of a terrific redesign. That being said, the rear could benefit from being tweaked.....it's the "chamferred" edges I'm least keen on. I know this was done to "shorten" the appearance of the car. It works from some angles, but not others. I also appreciated the rear panel being concave in a nod to the '67/'68 cars, but then the lights should have followed suit.

I'm confident both styles of S197 will become future classics. Depending on how far the all new 2015 model deviates from the current design ethos, the current cars may become coveted classics sooner than we think!

I never liked the body style of 05-09 mustangs... and the prior generation just looks dated now. Ford smoothed out the curves, both front and rear lights, and made the car look more modern - more sleek. The GT/CS front vascia and the GT500 rear diffuser just complete the package IMO.

The 2010+ GT grill with the huge pony and foglights I think is the only ugly part of the car, and was the first thing to go on my ride. At first when I purchased the car I was not a fan of the faux gas cap in the rear - but it's growing on me. However, I still think the car would look better without it - have just the taillights with nothing but paint in the middle.

I like it. I was one of the first 05 buyers, and when that one came out, it was a huge change from the new edge styling. 2010 wasn't a huge change but a really nice update IMO. My favorite parts are the hips, hood, the new interior, and the small spoiler. The whole package just comes together and looks good.
I'm ok with the back-end.

If I could have got a 5.0 in the old body style I think I would have gone that route. However, this new style has grown on me quite a bit since I've got the new one.

I'm happy with my new mustang. Overall it's a better car.

I think it looks great, the rearend never bothered me in the least though, in fact I always preferred it to the 05-09s rear.

Still prefer the looks of the 05-09 but there's no denying the sheer performance enhancements on the newer car. I feel the newer car is screwed together better as well. Keep in mind I don't dislike the look of the '10+, I just prefer the 05-09. Ideally if I could have the 05 look with the interior of the '11 along with the driveline of the '11, I'd be a happy camper.

I love it. I like the rear too. While I do like the 07-09 Stangs, I think they are starting to look old. I opted for the ped spoiler, which I still like but dont like that I lost my backup cam. Washing and drying under and around that is also a bit of a pain (I hand wash only). I also opted for the hood scoop but disappointed in the fit / installation method. As many others have already done, I plan on adding the CS front spoiler/lights and now debating if I should just swap to the halo lights at the same time. Other than some quality and fitment issues, I think the exterior styling is great. On the inside, I love the look but really wish there was more storage space and a better design on cupholders. I wished they would have carried the accent stripes on the 401 seats up higher - maybe into the head rests. I love the lighting too. After about 7 months and 6700 miles, I am still very happy.

While not necessarily a styling issue, the loss of spare means a huge wasted of space in the rear end. I would like to see it enlarged to carry a spare and jack OR eliminated entirely - perhaps making the truck space more functional OR filling that space with a secondary fuel cell for additional range.

I had an 05 and loved it. I wasn't a fan of the 2011 rear when I first got it. But, now I couldn't like it any more if it was sofia vergara's . That might just be a bit of an exaggeration.

There is nothing about the 2011 that I don't really like.

For the most part I like it. What I don't like is the black surround on the grill on the GT it looks and is cheap and unfinished. On the rear the trunk should have been flat or the tail lights curved but mixing the curved trunk and the flat tail lights looks like a mistake especially the way the lower corners of the trunk lid stick out when viewed from an angle.

When you guys say the '05-09 looks "old"... I wonder what you
think of the '65? Does it look "old" too? Is that such a bad thing?

As much as I love it, there definitely are styling cues on the '05 style that look passé. The overly blunt front end, wheel arch blisters and puffy/useless pedestal spoiler come to mind.

The '65 may have looked this way to people who just took delivery of their 1969 model...when a look is recently replaced, the previous style is at it's least appealing moment.

Now, the New Edge 99-04 cars are really starting to look good to me...but when the '05s came out, they looked like an old shoe. I think the '05s will have their day.

I like it so much i had to order a 2011 (see sig) I wasn't really a fan of the 05-09 body style that is why i kept my 03 Cobra till the 10-11's came out.

I agree with everyone. I love the car as a whole. I didn't like the plastic grille on this or the 05-09 with the big foglamps. I replaced it with a roush grille and cdc airdam, then added custom fogs in the lower fascia. I really don't mind the taillamps, just with they didn't have the little kink upwards. The concave truck lid is something I didn't like at all. I really didn't like it on the 1969 either...always prefered the flat panel like the 1970. I found a great solution from SLP. They make a smooth panel that costs only $52

i bought my 04 when i saw what the 05 were going to look like , i didnt like the triangular side veiw and lack of stylish body lines . Ford hit a home run with the 2010 when they put the contours back into the body in the rear quarter panel area and the rest of the body lines ... it reminds my alot more of my 70 mustang than the 05 to 09 plain body lines .
I love the looks and i hope they dont screw it up on the next design

I loved the look of the 05 when it came out, the new edge design really paid little homage to the classic mustang design, plus had a rounded roof with a squared off body. Just didn't look right to me, so until the 05 came out, I wasn't interested in buying. However, the 2010+ just does it that much better. I love looking out the side mirrors and seeing the hips!
