What did you pay for your 2010?

Currently in the market for a second mustang for the fiance. She currently drives a tired 00 zx3 focus. Have been eyeing the 2010 v6 mustangs, was wondering what people here have paid for theres. Went to a dealership today, and the best price they would give me was 20,000 out the door. This is with X-Plan, and they refused to add the college grad discount (she graduates in May) because I had X-Plan? Let me know what you guys think.

Oh btw, this was or a base v6, 5-speed, cloth seats, no spoiler, etc.

A local dealer here had a 2010 V6 "stripper" advertised the other day for $16,999 after rebates. Here in CA that would be around $19K out-the-door (9.25% tax, $55 document fee, $400 approx. in license/tags). I think you had to finance thru Ford Credit to get all of the rebates, though.

X-plan and the College Grad Rebate are NOT compatible with each other per Ford, so your dealer was correct in not allowing both incentives.

However, many dealers will sell base Mustangs at prices as low, or lower, than X-plan anyway so you could skip the X-plan benefit (don't use your PIN #) and just take the College Grad Rebate (and any other publicly available rebates).

What is the College Grad rebate? I'm unfamiliar with that. I just graduated this past May...will I still be eligible for the discount for a 2011? Or am I better off with X-plan?

Hey guys, the College Grad rebate is for anyone who is currently enrolled in college or trade school that talleys a certain number of credits per semester. Also for anyone who recently graduated from school, or is enrolled in grad school (don't have the exact specs, but they are rather open to allow alot of potential buyers). When you have X-Plan, as Brian pointed out, the College Grad rebate DOES NOT work. But if you can get a price around X-Plan (which on all new 2010 cars, X-Plan is about $100-$150 over invoice), don't use the X-Plan (meaning don't use the PIN number) and then you can use the College Grad rebate lowering your bottom line more than if you were using the X-Plan PIN.

Jeff, can you give us the number of how many credits one has to have per semester to use that discount?

Hey bud, I "cut and pasted" the info from the VINCENT page here at work.

To be eligible, students must meet one of the below requirements:

- Student is currently enrolled full-time OR part-time at an accredited Four-Year College/University, Junior College, Community College, or Trade School (Student must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 2 classes or an equivalent of 6 credit hours) and is considered by the schools guidelines to be in "good academic standing" (academic standing may be noted on the student's term grade report).

OR

- Student has graduated or will graduate between May 1, 2007 through January 4, 2010.

OR

- Student is currently enrolled in an accredited Graduate School program.

*NOTE: One-course completion certificates, on-the-job training courses (i.e. sales training, teaching certificates, professional designations and adult education courses do not qualify.

All the dealer needs from you, is a transcript of your class schedule, or if you graduated, a copy of your diploma.

Wow awesome. Well hopefully I can get my career to take off asap so I can order soon. So the College Grad Rebate is a better discount than X-plan, which is already only about $150 over invoice???

It all depends on how much you get the car for if your not using X-Plan. If you can order a car for a few hundred over invoice, and are applicable for the College Rebate, then your price drops under invoice, better than X-Plan.
